Another screen redesign before going to bed. Most mental math apps have pretty boring screens. Showing before (everything is dark) vs. after (more visual hierarchy and the screen feels more alive). Note: Icons still don’t feel right, and I have to create another item in the navigation for lessons.

Guys, according to the videos on social media I live in the most beautiful city and instead of enjoying it…. I am working on mobile apps, finishing my master degree in AI. Before AI, I’d spend a weekend building 1 useless app. Now I can build 67 useless apps over a weekend, each with a logo, a fancy webpage, and 0 user.

@lackoftactic JavaScript has improved a lot, but it still has some poor design decisions baked in the language.

Learned my limits with startup pace. 2020 - Contracting for PayPal. 2024 - Senior Software Engineer at Bamboo Health. Back in school for an AI master's. Thesis: fine-tuning LLMs. 22 years in the making. Not your typical vibe coder. No shortcuts. No hype. Just craft. You now have 22 years of reasons to follow.

@vitobotta I'm still working professionally with Rails, but spare time I am not more into js as backend. The JS was the worse thing ever when I started programming, but it got so much better and the process is super fun. I'm also big believer in reactive programming

@lackoftactic That 500-page-in-2-days phase is familiar. Rails had a way of making web apps feel possible before you knew all the scary bits.

Just hit my first 100 followers on @X. Small number, but it means a lot to me. 18 months ago I made a conscious decision against any public presence on LinkedIn. I had my reasons. Then I gave X a shot, and honestly? I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much. The quality of conversations, the people actually building things, sharing ideas openly, no performative nonsense. It just feels different here. As someone who has spent years in M&A and advisory, stepping into this world has been one of the better decisions I’ve made recently.
