Before I tweet anything, I do research and actually ask people questions, especially when I don’t have internal info. A junior associate who’s a frontend engineer at Moniepoint sent me a screenshot alert of his last salary payment directly from his bank app. When I initially asked him for his pay, he said it’s not a fixed figure because they add bonuses that are not fixed, and he went ahead to send the last salary payment screenshot from his mobile app. I’ve trained so many engineers in Nigeria, like a lot. Probably one of the top three largest tech training institutions in the country. I know HNG is number one. So when someone says there’s no good talent in the country, I’m also not happy about it. But I need you to know that we’re a growing ecosystem. So many people reading this tweet right now cannot point to 10 desktop engineers they know, or five game developers. You probably don’t even know 10 motion designers too. I’m not saying we don’t have them. I’m saying that you, reading this right now, probably can’t name them because you don’t know them. There’s also a huge responsibility for large companies to invest in training and employee pipelines. That’s why I also complained about the Dangote issue last year. We have a problem, and we need to agree on that. But Nigerians are also hardworking and technically global. We can’t deny that, and we should not undersell it. If you’re reading this and you know a junior technical associate in Moniepoint who’s earning below 1M. Please DM me proof, and I’ll legit add a follow up tweet to my initial tweet and apologise.

Lol, it’s not even decent. It’s high. The entry-level salary (junior associate/intern) for any technical role at Moniepoint is 1M+ per month. The current issue is that the TL is now filled with fake screenshots and personal views painted as objective discussions.

One of my greatest mistake in Life as a Farmer is being a FARMER. I shouldn’t have invested in a sector that is dependent on Government policies and bottlenecks. In my line of business, there’s no escaping Government inefficiencies. Nigerian Government will do everything in agriculture except solving problems. For more than 20 years farmers have been saying that we suffer seasonal Glut because we simply cannot individually afford Machinery for Egg Pasteurization. Government will listen to our complaints, lie that they are coming up with a NEGPRO scheme and go ahead to simply do the opposite of what was agreed. With high Electricity and Gas prices, investors are guaranteed not make their money back as Egg powder produced in Nigeria will fail to compete with Global market. Companies will rather import than buy made in Nigeria raw materials. State Governors are worse, they simply have no clue of what to do outside of using fertilizer as a political tool. They have refused to build or sustain any critical infrastructure (Dams, Health and safety of animals, meaningful collaborations or Training) The CBN under Emefiele refused to allow the Bank of Agriculture to do its job. With the growing insecurity and policy missteps farmers in Nigeria have little to no incentive to continue to run or grow their businesses. Don’t go into Agriculture, it’s simply not worth it.

A few weeks ago someone gave my husband moose meat (Yeah google moose to see what the animal looks like). Man brought it home and said we should try it. I told him there was no way my Nigerian tongue would caught near moose meat. My husband decided to make stew with it. When he started frying it, I nearly puked. It had this distinct flavour that was so alien For days I did not even want to use the same pot to cook. So we just dumped it in the freezer. Oga kept begging me to cook moose meat. I said “nahhh fam” Weirdly, my husband loved it and kept cooking it for himself. Another time he made stew and put his moose in one corner of the pot while I ate my regular chicken. One tiny piece of moose found it’s way on top my rice. This time, it did not taste or smell as bad Another time, another piece of moose entered my plate. Not only did it not taste bad, it actually tasted beefy to me My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, guess who went to the freezer to use the remaining moose to make stew some days ago? Yup, me! And this is my way of reminding you dear child of God that when you keep allowing things that you know don’t please God around you, you’ll be amazed at how much you can adjust to start doing things you swore you would never do Like me, you can go from being nauseated by moose meat one day and using it to make stew the next. The command is to “flee” Not adjust Not tolerate Not say cook your own one side and let me cook on the other side The Bible says flee Your no stronger than Samson o Blessings!

I once was a bookkeeper for a church. We got a new Pastor and he was very arrogant. I remember that I handled the confidential tithes and offerings of the parishioners, and he wanted to see them. I told him no. I told him that wasn't any of his business, and as a pastor he should know that. Then he started bringing in friends to speak on Sundays. Love offerings were collected, and on Monday morning, he would ask me how much had been collected. Let's say it was $1459.00. He would tell me to round that up. So, I would say, okay, $1500? He would say no, give them $2000. I fought him. Things got ugly. He started pounding his fist on the desk, telling me that the buck stopped with him. I yelled right back, and I told him that I treated that checkbook as if it were God's checkbook and I wasn't writing another check from it. I quit on the spot. Pastors and churches need to be held accountable. Their financials should be completely public.

Not like it was a terrible job. I loved doing it. But every night whenever I close at the restaurant I got my first job when I got to Morica, I weep inside of me. They would wheel out the big trash can and We would pour hot food that we didn't sell that were left overs inside the trash. Chicken, beef, shrimps, fries, mashed potatoes, rice, vegetables, gravy, smoothie, everything. So long we didn't sell it before 8pm, we trash them. That was my first cultural shock in Morica. 😳The first night I did it, nothing prepared me for it. My heart was heavy. I was thinking some people don't even have food to eat. Yet you are trashing left overs of hot good food in large quantities. Never seen it before. I got home and told my hubby and he said they will record it as loss in their tax returns. That that's how they do with leftovers. They don't give it out and don't leave it till next day to sell because of law suits. The throw it out and we cook fresh meals everyday within the hour. Omo. 😳I used to trash hot food with trembling hands whenever I think about those who don't even have to eat. I won't lie, doing that traumatized me🥺

Update: On Sallah day, she came to our house and started again, telling my daughter she's not fine. I spoke up firmly and said I don't like it, that I don't want my daughter growing up with low self-esteem just because she's darker than her siblings. She got upset, shouted that it was only play, that the child is always jovial with her so that's her way of joking. I told her again that I don't like it. She then acted like I disrespected her and started playing the victim. Thankfully, her husband stepped in and told her that since I don't like the "joke," she should stop. After that, she didn't talk to me or the kids for the rest of the day. Honestly, I don't care I'm just glad I stood up for my daughter.

Hi mamas I need your honest advice pls... My husband's uncle's wife has this habit of comparing my kids looks. Everytime we see, she jokingly calls my second daughter "Omo ti o fine" (the one that's not beautiful) while praising my first and last born. This has been going on for a long time. I wanted to confront her straight up, but my hubby says "just ignore her, she's like that." And none of her own girls even come close to my baby's glow and beauty yet she keeps doing this nonsense. I refuse to let anyone plant low self-esteem in my baby girl. Mamas, what would you do? Tell her to stop? or I should keep ignoring?

You don't have to mention Israel by name for the framing to do its work. The persecution is real. But you consistently strip out the context: the land conflicts, state failure, corruption, and the fact that the UN reports the majority of the 40,000+ killed in the Boko Haram insurgency are Muslim. You reduce it to Islam vs. Christians because that serves a civilizational narrative your account has been documented pushing since Oct 7. The University of Washington's Center for an Informed Public flagged exactly this pattern. Emotionally charged content with no deeper analysis, a constant stream of decontextualized anger. You know what you're doing with these clips.

Tech Bros and App developers. An idea came to mind this morning. Is it doable? I sketched in my Diary. Can we have an App or software whereby, every drug has a bar code. Once you buy a drug or medical item, you scan it and you're instantly notified if it is original or fake. If it is fake, An alert is immediately sent to NAFDAC which means the app's algorithm will be integrated into NAFDAC's database Every Authentic manufacturer too will have these bar codes. For every Flag to NAFDAC, The alert will also trace the location of production and entire distribution chain of the fake manufacturers. Is it a doable? Thinking out loud. I'm open to more discussions. You can send a DM

In 2014, when Nadia Murad was 19, ISIS came to the village where she and her family lived. They demanded that the villagers, who were Yazidi, convert to Islam. When their demands were refused, the killing began. Men and boys who were older than 14 were shot or burned alive; younger boys were taken to be trained as terrorists. 6 of Nadia’s brothers and stepbrothers were murdered for refusing to convert. Her mother, like the rest of the older women, was killed because she was too old to be desirable as a sex slave. 600 people were murdered, while Nadia and the other young women were taken into captivity. As one of the 6700 Yazidi girls captured by ISIS in 2014 alone, Nadia was kept as a sex slave in the city of Mosul, where she was beaten and raped and burned with cigarettes by her ISIS captor for months before she was able to escape. After she regained her freedom, Nadia campaigned tirelessly for the release and protection of Yazidi women and girls. In 2018, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, alongside Dr. Denis Mukwege, a renowned humanitarian. Together they founded the Global Survivors Fund, which works to gain survivors access to reparations and compensation so they can rebuild their shattered lives. In November of 2021, the Toronto District School Board, which is the largest district in Canada, banned its students from attending a meeting of a girls’ book club that focuses on female authors because Nadia was scheduled to discuss the book she wrote about her ordeal. Superintendent Helen Fisher ruled that students in her school district could not attend because the details of the book would “offend” Muslim students, and “promote Islamophobia.” I find it interesting that neither Ms. Fisher, the school board, nor local Muslims were able to distinguish between ISIS and the Muslim community as a whole.

In late October 2001, a 30-year-old who had just been fired from his own company flew coach to Moscow to buy a nuclear missile. Elon Musk brought two people. Jim Cantrell, an aerospace consultant who had worked on a joint Mars balloon mission for the French Space Agency and the Soviet Union. And Adeo Ressi, his college roommate, who had spent the previous month compiling videos of rockets exploding and staging interventions with Musk’s friends to convince him to stop. The plan was to buy a refurbished intercontinental ballistic missile from a Russian company called ISC Kosmotras, gut it, fill it with seeds and nutrient gel, and land a greenhouse on Mars. The entire purpose was a publicity stunt to guilt NASA into funding a real mission. Musk had $180 million from selling PayPal and was willing to spend $20 to $30 million. The Russians quoted $8 million per missile. Musk offered $8 million for two. They laughed. One reportedly spit on him. He came back four months later, February 2002, bringing Michael Griffin, who would later become the head of NASA. Same result. The price kept climbing and the Russians wouldn’t close. On the flight home, Cantrell and Griffin called over the drink cart and started celebrating the fact that they’d made it out of Moscow in winter. Musk sat in front of them, silent, typing on his laptop. After a while he turned around and showed them a spreadsheet. He’d modeled the cost of manufacturing a rocket from scratch. Raw materials, he’d calculated, were about 3% of the typical launch price. The other 97% was margin, bureaucracy, and vertical integration that nobody had attempted. SpaceX incorporated March 14, 2002. First office: a 3,000-square-foot warehouse in El Segundo with a few cubicles. Musk put in $100 million of his own money and personally interviewed the first 3,000 employees. First rocket: Falcon 1, named after the Millennium Falcon. Target price to orbit: $6.9 million when the going rate started at $30 million. First launch, March 2006, failed 25 seconds in. Corroded fuel line nut. Second launch, March 2007, reached 180 miles altitude before the engine cut from fuel slosh. Third launch, August 2008, the first stage bumped the second stage after separation. Residual thrust. A fix that took one line of code. Three failures. Tesla hemorrhaging cash at the same time. Divorce proceedings. Musk later said he was waking from nightmares screaming. 2008 was the worst year of his life. The fourth rocket had no paying customer. Nobody wanted to fly on a vehicle that had exploded three times. The payload was a 364-pound aluminum dummy nicknamed RatSat, built from spare parts in the factory. Musk split his last $30 million between SpaceX and Tesla. If the rocket failed, both companies die. September 28, 2008. Falcon 1 reached orbit. First privately developed liquid-fuel rocket to do so. NASA called six weeks later with a $1.6 billion contract. Musk couldn’t hold the phone. He just said “I love you guys.” SpaceX is now valued at $1.25 trillion after the xAI merger, filing for an IPO targeting $1.75 trillion. It launched over 160 rockets in 2025, more than half of all orbital launches on Earth. Starlink has 9 million subscribers across 150 countries from nearly 10,000 satellites. Twenty-four years ago, his best friend made him watch compilation videos of rockets blowing up to convince him this was insane. He watched every one of them and flew to Moscow anyway.
