@tinkernode @supabase Never expected this from them... love their service and the ease of the DB and Auth but this outage is really a shock.

we promise you that we are techincal enough to handle and grasp some more technical detail about what went wrong, and also we would really appreciate an ETA as to when can we expect things to go back to normal. I could have seriously self hosted postgres, but I decided to pay for a managed service just to have a peace of mind as a solo dev. A 3 hour downtime and no communication about an ETA for fix is seriously frustrating. Customers are complaining now and I lost many potential new users in these 3 hours.

We have identified an increase of 500 errors in some US regions. We are investigating the root cause of this incident. us-east-2 region isn’t receiving any network traffic at this point. We are also seeing some API request errors in other US regions, but not as high as us-east-2.

@supabase 3 hour+ outage? Absolutely crazy. No possibility to purchase/add failover systems for backup servers with read and write? Also insane.

@dshukertjr Exactly how you're going to stop massive outages/downtime like this from happening in the future. I love Supabase but if this keeps happening you can't expect people to stay 😔

@supabase us-east-2 (at least) is down for a lot of people, I’ve tested and all of my projects on us-east-2 are completely unreachable, can you explain why your status page doesn’t reflect the actual status of each region?

@levelsio Met multiple people in Zurich who are now Portuguese citizens who someone hacked the system and are now enjoying the EU lifestyle. Not sure how long the process takes, but this must have been happening for years.

From what I learnt in Portugal: Bangladeshi (and Nepalese, Pakistani etc) are absolutely 10/10 at hacking immigration loopholes In Portugal they arrive on a tourist visa and then "Article 88(2) from thr law allows migrants who entered legally (like on a tourist visa, or sometimes even irregularly) and have a valid work contract and proof of having paid social security for at least 12 months, to apply for residency without a visa" Respect for hacking it, I'd probably be doing the same if I was them (Not that the system should allow it at this scale though and definitely should not allow for welfare benefits being paid out)

Seems like all AI models from all providers and based around the world are slow atm. I wonder how they can have universal bottlenecks... would suggest shared resources? Hope they speed up soon!
