The stakes are not high for Trump. The test is not whether he can stay on message or avoid picking fights or throwing his feces at John Roberts.
The only thing he could do tonight to marginally improve GOP fortunes heading into the midterms would be to acknowledge that he hasn't been focused on people's financial struggles and lay out a plan to improve them.
I'm sure he'll nail that.

It's become a relic of a speech that barely matters for even the 24 hours anyone is paying attention - and the people who are paying attention tend to be politically engaged types who've already made up their minds.
