Some staples of science fiction that I bet will NEVER be part of our real future: large-scale levitation, time-travel, and faster-than-light travel. What else would you bet falls in this category?

@tyrell_turing @graemedmoffat @neuroecology @erikphoel @robinhanson The only way I can see this happening is a 'Ship of Theseus'-style 1-by-1 replacement of neurons with artificial ones until the whole brain is artificial. Then you can probably move it out the the body into a machine.

@graemedmoffat @neuroecology @erikphoel @robinhanson I don't think you need to delve into such matters to agree with my point. I'm simply making a practical claim here: Yes, in principle it is possible, but it is so fundamentally impossible on a practical level it will never happen.

I know I'm biased, but this is shaping up to be another fantastic tool from the open science tools team. Love how much they relish all the challenges we throw at them!!

@da5nsy Pine64 stuff generally works as a replacement. Their SBCs use the same bus as the RPi.

@VR_Neuroscience Check if the driver has a current setting. They shouldn't heat up to need a heatsink with a load that small.

We live in the future: when you try out jupyter here, everything runs in the browser, no remote kernel necessary. It’s Python compiled to web assembly with web workers in Pyodide . Numpy, matplotlib, etc. it all works jupyter.org/try
