@Sloshwell @real_lord_miles Yes, mostly. But the concept of the devil is paradox both in satanism as in christianity. An omnipotent god can't have an opponent. Isn't that ridicolous?

If you worship the devil then you have to agree there is a God right? And if you agree there is a God, why tf would you worship the devil? Retarded ideology

There are hundreds of thousands of people who say they have seen ghosts. Maybe they are right, maybe they all just want to have a great story to tell at the dinner party. If what you say doesn't align with the other person's framework, then you'd have to come up with a long explanation on how an alternative framework is actually correct. If you want to convince me that a ghost is haunting this house, you have to explain to me how haunting only happens in some circumstances, how the ghost was created out of a restless soul, how the soul can find rest again, where it will go after finding rest, etc. Likewise, if you're telling me that there's an actual mismatch between you (the soul?) and your body, you'd have to explain where souls come from, how they get into bodies, how there is a mismatch sometimes, and so on.

Guy who doesn’t believe in the entire field of psychology because “you can’t verify thoughts” You don’t need to know for 100% that a particular person feels that way if thousands of people tell you they feel a certain way, it is most likely true some or most are telling the truth, especially if they have much different circumstances and live in different societies. what would make you think otherwise?

@LilithLovett @sleepy_devo I don't need to be a doctor to understand that you can't verify feelings or thoughts. They are inaccessible to others. Little children understand that they need to tell their parents when they are hungry, because the parents can't read their minds.

I'm debating it now and it is not verifiable because it depends on the "personal sense" of a person, which we cannot verify, because we can't read minds. I even doubt that there is a personal sense or feeling of one's (gender) identity. It sounds as silly to me as saying that there is a sense of feeling solid rather than liquid.

Fair. The solution for gender dysphoria would then depend on the alternative reasons, like peer or parental pressure, pornography, and so on. But to be fair, the solution can be to just not do it. There isn't a fix for being old for example, you can't turn back time and you can't change your gender.

This is true. I think (re-)creating basic groups around a common goal is probably the easiest way. As far as I can tell you need to have activities that involve basic time management and coordination. Competence and reliability must be tested and displayed. It must be a sacrifice.

@moenarch @ScottMGreer The problem now is that in many cases there simply is no community anymore. And by that I mean tight-knit (meat space) groups of 150 people or less. Our biggest need right now is bringing back organic accountability ecosystems. Without that, everything is low-trust hell.

People need to spell out these ways besides the apps. We just spent a week of discourse on here on how women don’t want to be approached at church. Approaching at work can cost a man his job. We have fewer third spaces. Younger people go out less and have fewer social connections. More of them live online. It’s not surprising people still rely on the apps given this situation.
Megan Basham@megbasham

The depression among young women, the rage among young men because they can’t find each other is primarily driven by this. The online dating experiment failed. Yes there’s some happy couples out there. But at scale, it has left young men and women, isolated, insecure, and resentful. Time to acknowledge it and get back to better, time-honored ways of meeting each other.

i'm actually ok with under 18s going on hormones if they're strictly supervised by a not-ideologically-captured doctor who recognizes that there is actually a rare but genuine need for them. i'm not ok with the total destruction of gatekeeping the trans activists want.
TitaniumDragoonNeo@TitaniumNeo

@GayPornCEO @XavierBleck @sleepy_devo @nyaraVT Dev doesn't. He's repeatedly said he doesn't support transitions for under-18s.

The reason why I'm at a crossroad with choosing between Catholicism and Orthodoxy comes down to this: Which side has the better historical connection to the Church Jesus founded in 33 AD? Which side is objectively closer to the early followers of Christ and what they believed.

@wigger @Leongbhailte Sam Hyde has few bad takes, this is one of them, unfortunately. not that it necessarily factually unsound or anything like that, but it is spiritually antithetical to the greater message that you (Sam) believe in, which is the reinstatement of White European culture.

@GreeneMan6 Their strategy is to appear smarter, not to get anything done. On the level of septum ring girls complaining about capitalism. Every organization has some kind of defect, you either leave it or lead it.

@KeithWoodsYT The libertarian position is that the government is the root of every problem, so of course they will define every problem in such a way that they can blame the government. They don't deserve any attention.

Great illustration of how simplistic the libertarian understanding of economics is. For Peter, inflation simply has to always be central bank driven and downstream of "money printing." An oil shock is the classic case of cost-push inflation because it raises production costs across the entire economy, but libertarians believe in a fantasy where producers perfectly respond to falling demand signals and absorb the hit. They just redefine "real" inflation so narrowly that supply shocks are natural "price increases," then blame any broader rise on the inevitable policy response.
Peter Schiff@PeterSchiff

Rising oil prices won't cause higher inflation. More expensive oil means Americans will have less money to spend on other things. Reduced spending will cause a recession, which will result in larger budget deficits, rate cuts, and QE. That's what will cause higher inflation.

You're right, but these are existing insulated groups who have not felt the effects of feminism. You can't get modern secular urbanites exposed to feminism to just adopt that behaviour. And if the suggestion isn't to scale that model, then it's difficult to see how trying to clamp down on "degeneracy" in mass society – in the very limited ways any government could even do that now – will do anything for fertility.

The most prolific White breeders of all time are the Amish, the Mormons and the Puritans (also see Haredi and Orthodox Jews in the West) These all have something in common and it’s the direct opposite of what BAP is suggesting If you want higher birth rates you need less degeneracy, not more, as is being suggested here.

@JPCatulus @__suds__ @ClueCultComm @wil_da_beast630 What you say doesn't make any sense. A punishment for a convict doesn't deny the right of the innocent. Furthermore, no one thinks a convict suddenly becomes 30% alive and the electric chair just does the last 30%. Pretending to be retarded won't save you.
