@tommoor @linear Not a bug, but there was a button in our previous tool which let you open a PR from an issue in 2 clicks. It's basically a link to GitHub with sometime query params for title w/ issue no, branch, etc, but feels like such an easy win and I can't believe no one has implemented yet.

@levelsio I literally just got home from doing my bi-annual blood test with aware.app in Berlin, and they have locations across DACH + Netherlands. It takes like 10 mins to pop in, get a blood draw, and you have results in the app. Price is fair imo.

I was never able to do blood tests when I asked for it in Netherlands Doctor asked "why? you're not sick?" Then I tried in Portugal (at Germano de Sousa) but they never picked up the phone or when they did were so slow and unhelpful I gave up, they also require a doctor prescription btw The first place I could get my blood tested was Thailand in 2018, I just walked into Bumrungrad and asked for it, amazing experience Last few years we just fly to Brazil and do it here, the nurse comes to your home/hotel at 8am and takes your blood, same or next day results online I find it funny I keep having to fly out of Western Europe to do blood tests, they make it impossibly hard to do them Which is retarded

@levelsio Who is your doctor in Portugal who can prescribe all the tests you want to do?

@lisavsworld i got a package sent back to change the address from the sorting center. i had used the post offices' own official abbreviation, which for the united kingdom is UK. they claimed they couldn't tell if it was to go to england or ukraine or even ubekistan.

I once sent a package to the US but forgot the zipcode. Japan got it to the US... and the US sent it all the way back to Japan despite having all of the other information. The Japanese post office was offended on my behalf that it was returned. It would have been their policy to find the postal code and make sure the package was delivered. It was then I had to introduce them to the blight on the American spirit that affects many people today called, "Any excuse not to do something."

@yongfook Curious how this works when you accept payments out-of-band. That's how we collect most of our revenue, and it would be a pretty easy way to 'fake' MRR as you're just issuing an invoice and saying "yep, this got paid elsewhere."

@BenjaminHouy Do not recommend DHL Express. They lost my passport when I was trying to get it renewed, package lost in Frankfurt for months, eventually US embassy calls me asking about getting an empty envelope delivered... There's some kind of weird non-interop issue btw DHL and DHL express.

Another day in the life of an entrepreneur in Germany. Needed to send something abroad quickly so figured I would use DHL Express. There is no DHL Express in the centre of Düsseldorf so I took a car to the suburb where the service centre is. The door is closed. I ring. They tell me I need to book it online. I do it, come back, show them the QR code. They can’t scan it, look confused. After what feels like an eternal wait in a soviet-looking room with a poster saying “trust the future of your business to DHL”, they finally come back. They look confused but assure me it’s done. This premium express service only costs 65 euros for a letter, what a steal!

@TweetsOfSumit As soon as you're not a German (speaker) selling products to Germans in Germany, the whole thing gets a lot more complicated. I'm not for shitting on German processes for no reason, but running a company here is an enormous hassle when you don't fit into a tidy little German box

@BenjaminHouy Could make them more or less interested as it's a short term gig :'D I checked and the other tax advisor I previously used is now only catering to doctors. Good luck!

Please, please, please... Someone give me the name of a competent German tax advisor. I will happy pay 3 times the going rate just so everything is filed quickly and I never have to think about German bureaucracy ever again.

@monicalent It’s 60 days in Cyprus. We considered Dubai too but we don’t qualify for visa on the current company earnings. And the 60-day requirement means we can easily spend a few months in various places and see what we like best.

The sad conclusion seems to be that Germany simply does not want entrepreneurs. Where would you advise 2 European cofounders move to run an online business? Mostly looking for a place where we won’t feel like we are constantly fighting against a system that does not want us.
Benjamin Houy@BenjaminHouy

Moving to Germany was the single biggest mistake I ever made in 12 years of running a business. I genuinely have no idea how this country even runs. My advice for people thinking of running a business from Germany? Run and never look back.

@BenjaminHouy Ah you're also planning to move! I'd just check how many days you need to be there to claim tax residency, as I know that's why some people skip Malta (it gets boring to spend 183 days/year on a tiny island). You could also look into Dubai w/ only 90 days/year for biz owners.

I think it totally makes sense to stay in Germany in your case considering you have already done all the work. For me, Cyprus is much easier because many accountants there are also UK accountants so they understand the dual Cyprus-UK tax structure. I also always wanted to live on in the med :)

@BenjaminHouy @linear @wobaka @NotionHQ @SLAB I would look for a CRM that has a robust API. We automate a lot of connections between our application db (source of truth) with the CRM, otherwise it's totally unfeasible to sync manually.

My "everything is Apple Notes" setup is getting a bit messy now that I'm running 2 SaaS. What do you think of this stack? - @linear to manage product dev - @wobaka as a CRM - @NotionHQ or @SLAB for knowledge mgt What are you using?

German founders: is there a good alternative to @GetMyInvoices? We are having more and more problems with it, I'm looking for a reliable solution to get invoice PDF data into DATEV. According to my tax advisor, all his clients have rising problems with GMI.

Some enterprise customers let you jump through all the corporate hoops for 6 weeks for a €3000/yr contract. I'm thinking about adding a €10k enterprise base fee, otherwise, it's not worth the time at all 🤔

I still copy&paste my code from @code into the ChatGPT app and back. Especially when talking about multiple files and specific functions. Any suggested workflow that works better with VSCode? Somehow I can’t get warm with the GH Copilot UI in @code.

Good morning. Last call. Today is the last day to give your feedback. It can be anonymous and it can be just a few words. Remind the EU Commission you want a company law that is fully digital, notary-free and that we don't want notaries in the future of company law. It is important as keeping the notary system will stop us from having automated company law, digital-first and allow tomorrow to manage your company filings from you mobile phone, using your fintech tools, banks, etc. Thank you for all the Europeans who already have started to do so. Something like "I am a founder and I want to be able, like in Delaware or UK, to be able to register my company filings online, without the need for outdated notaries. Entrepreneurs and their investors do not want the outdated notary system" We need much more. Tens, hundreds of you to go there. It's 4 minutes of your time that could change things for the better. Thank you Time to speak up: ec.europa.eu/info/law/bette…
