The funniest part about LeBron going to the 76ers is that they still won’t make it past the second round of the playoffs. Embiid fr the worst dead weight playoff anchor in the NBA. Won’t allow you to go further no matter what.

I've been writing about the NBA for a long time. I've followed the league all my life. I don't think I've ever seen a team make lemonade out of lemons in an offseason like the Sixers just did

Going to one of the most unlikable teams in the league that he has no connection to where the team’s star is an unreliable chronically injured flopper is certainly a choice. I mean I know LeBron’s old, but I didn’t think he was “crippling dementia” old.

BREAKING: LeBron James is signing with the Philadelphia 76ers on a two-year, $8 million deal with a player option, Klutch Sports Group and Klutch CEO and Game Over show host Rich Paul tells ESPN.

I love how everyone is appalled at the very concept of arresting the President of Israel, like we didn’t black-bag the President of Venezuela earlier this year.

anchorage really pisses me off bc it could so easily be one of the most beautiful and uniquely placed cities on earth but instead it’s just another standard boring mid-sized american city, but at 61°N

@McCadeP8 @jsjjazzfan78 @Tjonesonthenba That’s crazy. 7 year olds are so easier. They’re smarter than you think and if they respect you, they’ll be eager to please. Teenagers are hormonal monsters that think they know everything. They can be great or they can be nightmares or they can be both in a 30 second span.

Unbelievable to watch. Bro predicted he’d run a mile in 222 seconds and beat the world that has stood for 27 years months ago and the madman actually did it. Utterly Brilliant.

@LotusAsakura Given that Bron is arguably the best player in the world and Kobe is maybe top 20, this is probably not a great comparison.

non-football watcher here Are Messi & Ronaldo the equivalent to Lebron & Kobe? Meaning: they're both obvious all-time greats & there was a genuine conversation once upon a time about who was better between the two, but one (Messi/Bron) CLEARLY surpassed the other and is widely considered the absolute greatest to ever do it (despite both achieving greatness & having a LOT of success in their careers) but the other player has a cult-like fanbase that won't let it ago even though it kinda stopped being a real conversation years ago?

@RealBBFan @BennettRayford @ddiamond All that time playing and you didn’t realize that the salaries are scaled based on % of salary cap? Literally some of the highest salaries in the game are from decades ago (ie 2000s KG).

Better 82-0 (cap version) is fun to play because of its mix of strategy, luck and logic. 73-9 is flawed for many reasons. Among them: — the five Warriors starters in 2015-16 used 93% of that year's salary cap. — this game lets you use only 60% of the salary cap to beat them.

@RealBBFan @ddiamond I didn’t say $93M was their active roster payroll. I said that’s how much they spent. That active roster payroll doesn’t include the additional money they paid to Jason Thompson (who wasn’t on the team) or the money they saved through trades/mid-level exception. They spent $93M.

@fchowd0311 @kylekuzma Brother the average American could work for 60 years and not make half of 20 million dollars sit down and shut the fuck up

@kylekuzma The obvious part you are ignoring is we are referring to athletes who notoriously have a small window to gain a salary from what they trained for their entire life. So a one time 20 mil contract needs to be for life because they aren't going to use their athletic talent at 50.

Ngl it’s exhausting hearing athletes break down how their millions “aren’t really millions” after taxes and fees. 40M after taxes is still 40M. The real issue isn’t the system, it’s lifestyle creep. Nobody told you to live like a king, buy 5 cars, or move with a 10‑person entourage. Modest is allowed.

Inspired by 82-0, we have put together this game we have called 73-9. You have $100 million to spend on players to try to beat the 2015-16 Warriors. It's a long shot, especially because you are constrained by money. Shoot your shot, though! Link: hoopsmatic.com/73-9-game

@Danny2KYT Game is broken. Salaries all scaled to 2026 salary cap. Gotta beat 2015 GSW who only paid 93M in salary but in 2015 that was 133% of the cap. So you’re being asked to beat a luxury tax team with only $100M, which is only 60% of the 2026 cap. A’s beating the Yankees type shit.

@scrawnyboiii 3. that said, the clip I qt’d lacked a lot of context, which CJ clarified here on Twitter. Considering the context, I have less of an issue with what CJ said specifically, though the current trend of players talking about their financial struggles is still problematic imo.
CJ McCollum@CJMcCollum

Obviously millions of dollars is enough. But back in the day before NIL we didn’t get paid until November and I didn’t get paid at Lehigh. I left school in April for Pre Draft. So I lived off $12k energy drink deal Until November. Which was cool with me. 2 bands a month. The point is that people with money need to budget and people without it need to budget too

@scrawnyboiii 2. words matter. I’m not “projecting” a grievance, I’m commenting on an fairly objectively distasteful pattern of players talking onerously about financial struggles when their financial realities are standard deviations better than the everyday realities of average Americans.
