A 76-year-old man, Trompie Kruger, was assaulted during a violent farm attack/robbery in Kameeldrift East, Pretoria, last night. He was repeatedly struck over the head during a struggle in the kitchen, leaving a blood-soaked scene. His wife and family were inside the home at the time.

Elon Musk@elonmusk·
South Africa won’t allow Starlink to be licensed, even though I was BORN THERE, simply because I am not Black! We were offered many times the opportunity to bribe our way to a license by pretending that a Black guy runs Starlink SA, but I have refused to do so on principle. Racism should not be rewarded no matter to which race it is applied. Shame on the racist politicians in South Africa. They should be shown no respect whatsoever anywhere in the world and shunned for being unashamedly RACISTS!
DogeDesigner@cb_doge

Why Elon Musk is RIGHT to fight South Africa’s racist rules blocking Starlink? Imagine this: Long ago, South Africa had very unfair laws called apartheid. They treated Black people badly and kept them from good jobs and money. When those bad laws ended, the country made new rules (called B-BBEE) to help Black people get a fair share of business. The idea was good – like a big helping hand. But now? For companies like Starlink to sell fast internet, they MUST give away 30% of their business to Black partners. Just because of skin color. Elon Musk was born in South Africa. He left as a teen to chase big dreams. Today, his company SpaceX wants to bring Starlink – super fast satellite internet – to South Africa. But the rules say no unless they give up part of the company. Elon said it right: “Starlink is not allowed because I’m not Black.” SpaceX promised to spend about $30 million (that’s 500 million rand!) to give FREE high-speed internet to 5,000 rural schools. That helps over 2.4 MILLION kids every year learn better, get jobs later, and have a brighter future. Real help for the people who need it most! Starlink already works in about 24 other African countries. Villages there now have internet for school, doctors, and business. South Africa’s villages are missing out because of these racist rules. Elon isn’t asking for special favors. He just wants fair play so Starlink can connect everyone fast. Internet = education, jobs, hope. Why hold back millions of kids over rules that pick by race and color?

What the Artemis II astronauts did over the last 10 days was a testament to their bravery. And the fact that they traveled farther from Earth than anyone ever has, re-entered our atmosphere at more than 24,000 mph, and splashed down safely was a testament to human ingenuity. Thanks to everyone at @NASA for making this mission possible, and for taking us along for the ride.

Myself and 3 other Nigerians have been unlawfully detained in Johannesburg airport for literally doing nothing, papers complete, visa valid and they literally just singled us out of the crowd for nothing, and onenof us's phone has been seized all day and hasn't been allowed to reach out to anyone. They are trying to take my own phone now, so I am putting this out so that the world knows that if anything happens to us, south Africa should be held responsible, please repost and tag the authorities concerned.. They are saying that they will detain us for no reason until God knows when. We are telling them that we want to book another flight back home immediately and they are refusing that. @abikedabiri @PoojaMedia @instablog9ja

EXCLUSIVE Several senior police officers, including Generals, have been arrested in Pretoria on corruption related charges. It is linked to the Medicare Tshwane District contract. Sources say the arrested cops were part of the bid committee. We also believe that a former senior employee of Vusi “Cat” Matlala is behind bars. They are being detained at a police station in the capital. All those arrested will appear in court tomorrow. @pule_jones

It was a privilege to see the U.S. Ambassador to South Africa, @BrentBozell III, again today and to speak with him. He was a speaker at the @BizNewsCOM conference in Hermanus. In his address, Ambassador Bozell emphasized that the “Kill the Boer” chant constitutes hate speech and is unacceptable. Bozell also expressed the United States’ concern about, among other things, rural violence, uncertainty regarding property rights, the negative effects of Black Economic Empowerment on economic growth, and the fact that South Africa does not follow a non-aligned foreign policy. @afriforum will continue to work hard alongside our colleagues in the Solidarity Movement to help address these points of concern in the interest of everyone in the country. We cannot afford for the ANC to gamble with the future of the country’s people and its economy through reckless policy directions and foolish statements. That is precisely why we are fighting full steam ahead to maintain AGOA and to ensure that the country’s people are not punished with tariffs because of the foolish actions of ANC leaders.
