In observance of Good Friday, the City of Philadelphia will be closed today. There will be no trash or recycling collections today. Friday’s collection will be moved to Saturday, April 19, 2025.

@SecDuffy 100% bullshit. Has Sean Duffy ever even been to New York? I recently drove to NY (usually I take the train) and I was more than happy to pay $9. Congestion was noticeably less.

Hard working New Yorkers aren’t pissed off at the White House.  They’re pissed off about being charged $9 to use their own streets. Don’t take it from me, listen to what the people have to say about New York’s congestion pricing cash grab. End the disconnect. End congestion pricing. Now.

I think Congestion Pricing is the first law passed in my 10 years in NYC that everyone who *lives in NYC* mostly agrees with and likes. There were simply too many cars and way too much traffic. It was unsustainable and congestion pricing actually worked and I hope it comes back.

@elonmusk That is literally the essence of democracy. Our government has three co-equal branches and the Court can and must be a check on the executive branch when it violates the law, especially direct violations of the Constitution.

@elonmusk Judicial review does not mean judges “run the country” it means presidents must govern within legal and constitutional boundaries. If any president could act without legal limits, we wouldn’t have democracy we’d have dictatorship.

@ArtemisConsort I agree that it’s hard to talk them out of it. Disagree that it’s a “rational preference”. It’s actually completely irrational because, on average, it’s nonsense.

The thing YIMBYs need to understand is that poor people are, on average, worse neighbors, which is why the middle class and rich will always fight the construction of low-income housing in their neighborhoods. You cannot talk them out of this rational preference.

In my opinion, more than 75% of every urban planning, architecture, and landscape architecture program today should focus on “SPRAWL REPAIR”. The work is endless. And virtually nobody is teaching it.

The Austin metro should have hundreds of miles of transit. Turning train ROWs into trails in such a city is very regressive.

Below Washington Ave, South Broad is almost all zoned for single-family rowhomes! Right on top of the only 4-track subway in America outside of NYC!! There’s a ton of potential housing capacity there

South Broad Street should really become a development sink for @PhillyMayor’s 30,000 Homes initiative
