Both Overlayer and Solomon aim to evolve stablecoins but their approaches couldn’t be more different. USDv relies on centralized exchanges (like Binance) to run basis trades spot-long/perp-short strategies managed via custody partners. It’s risky and hard to verify on-chain. Overlayer upgrades existing stablecoins by embedding transparent, on-chain yield via Aave. No CEXs, no custodians, no trust assumptions. Thanks to the Overyield effect, it delivers competitive returns with superior risk/reward through pure lending on the most battle-tested protocol in crypto (Aave). USDv is Solana-native. Overlayer targets Ethereum, the core of DeFi liquidity and expands cross-chain via LayerZero. In short: composability, transparency, and trustless design make Overlayer the more robust long-term architecture for those seeking a higher risk/reward profile. That said, Solomon may be the better fit for users who are committed to the Solana ecosystem, a network Overlayer does not currently support.
