How do people in the suburbs genuinely look forward to Friday night on the couch, Saturday morning at Costco, and call that a weekend? Like you really moved out of the city just to LARP as your parents at 34?

@MurrayHillGuy1 In fairness me and my wife are in our early 40s living in the city w/o kids and that sounds a lot like most of our weekends.

@nickythegood Random other 35 yr olds w/o kids doing the same thing. Its easy to make friends when everyone is drunk, or get into fights.

Weekends don’t exist once you’re in the burbs because kids dominate. It’s just time. Days don’t matter. However, 35 year olds who still live in the city, getting hammered at bars are just as confusing. Not that it doesn’t sound like fun, but your friends aren’t at the bar with you, they’re in the burbs at soccer practice, with me. So who are you getting hammered with?

ok if Vegas basically upgraded itself to being a classy, high-end vacation destination, where should I go for my trashy vacations now?

@_Matt_Hammond_ Makes sense. I was really underwhelmed. It got to the point that I stopped gambling because I was just giving them my money and could barely get a drink off them. At least liquor me up if your gonna take my cash. Thats supposed to be the deal

Many people wrongfully blame the pandemic for the collapse of Vegas, but they started the reduction of regular middle class attendees starting in the mid to late 2000s when they started instituting resort fees at many of the casinos and later in the 2010s they started charging for parking. Comps kept getting worse and worse did not help either. I think they are like Dinsey and will not make changes until the people have gotten out of the habit of going and then it will be too late.

@_Matt_Hammond_ @politicalmath Only time I went to Vegas, bout 6/7 yrs ago, I was sitting at a bar playing penny slots to get free drinks and I didnt get a single drink. I had 2 buy 1 then never saw the bartender again. I can get hammered off losing 20 bucks on penny slots at my local casino

@politicalmath Nothing is cheap anymore. From videos I have watched about Vegas explaining the issues - they charge for parking - they charge a resort fee - they reduced comps - prices exploded for food and drinks

@politicalmath First time I went to NO for a bachelor party me and my friend went to bed early 1 night because we were whipped out and got up early and decided to go grt breakfast on bourbon street. Bourbon street at 7 am is something else.

When I lived in SLC, my very favorite trip was driving down to Vegas for a conference. It's a beautiful 5 hour drive that takes you through some of the most beautiful landscapes in America then you get to Vegas and you can enjoy the cheap drinks, parties, and dive bars or you can go hiking and chill by the pool. I would jog the strip at 6AM which was always a delight b/c 6AM Vegas is it's own funny experience

@Atlasshrugssoon @GolfloverUK Sure but on the pga tour he does have to walk. If he played on the sr tour he can ride but his ego wont allow for that

@pc2005 @GolfloverUK Tigers body is much older than his age. If he didn’t have to walk that course he might do a top ten. He knows how to play it and avoid big numbers

Listening to people in the golf club their consensus is that Tiger can make it back to the top 20 in the world?! I do wonder if people watch or understand golf at times! 🙄

@sflgent61 @Moonlight_myths She has done the test. He doesn't want to believe it because he wants a way out of the marriage and parenthood. She could show him 1000 tests and he just doesn't want to face it because he's convinced himself this is his way out.

My sister gave birth to a red-haired daughter. But she and her husband are both dark-haired. No one in our family has red hair. My sister insists that her husband's great-grandfather was red-haired, and that's how it was passed down. Her husband didn't believe her, especially since she has this one red-haired colleague at work. Anyway, he insisted on a DNA test, which they did after huge fights and screaming matches. My sister threw the paper in his face. It showed 99.9% he's the father. But he still doesn't believe it, says the test could have been faked or someone paid off the lab. He wants to do another one at a different lab, but my sister is afraid this will definitely lead them to divorce He's not even talking to my sister right now. But he says it's better to find out the truth and live with a clear conscience. He doesn't want to raise someone else's child. I believe my sister 100%, but I have to admit the situation is pretty bizarre. Does anyone know anything about genetics?

@sflgent61 @Moonlight_myths Both my hair color changed during childhood as did my father's when he was a kid. It's pretty common

@Moonlight_myths Why is your sister fighting? Is she a moron? If it’s really his kid then just say sure and do the test until the husband is sure. There is only one reason why she would protest. One word out of her mouth of protest means that she is guilty of cheating.

@Moonlight_myths Has anyone mentioned that hair color can change as people age? Pretty common for hair to darken as you age out of early childhood

@thwacknicklaus Its tough to watch a guy who had a better career start then TW fade into irrelevance. He was so good in his early 20s

So tired of this Spieth narrative. I don’t think it’s fun or cute to watch him barely make the cut/fade away over the weekend while slapping it all over the course. I don’t dislike him, but there are so many more golfers to watch/root for.

Sure… Vegas is “dead.” Meanwhile, inside the Bellagio Conservatory — packed every day. Here’s the reality people don’t want to admit: Vegas didn’t die… it filtered. Post-Covid, they let anyone in just to survive. Cheap rooms, chaos, TikTok fights, people crying about $20 water in the desert. Now? That era’s over. Prices went up. Vibe cleaned up. And the people who can actually afford to be here showed back up. If you think Vegas is dead… you’re probably just not the target customer anymore. And judging by the crowds — they’re perfectly fine with that.

I understand the Tiger Worship. For a couple generations he’s a golf god. But he’ll be lucky to endure 72 holes walking those hills at Augusta if he manages to make the cut. And if he gets a late-early tee time combo, he’ll likely not make the cut. His body is older than his age. Just enjoy what he is now

@GolfloverUK I really do get it what you’re saying, but you gotta respect the player he wants was. And I’m sure he’ll be melodramatic and talk some bullshit about Physio or something, but you just can’t deny the the talent. He knows he’s walking for four days.
