ACU is a type of uniform. UCP is a pattern. OCP is a pattern. We still wear ACUs. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

@markdtooley @MethodistView The only way they’ve ever been able to accomplish that is through force and violence. No majority ever actually wants Calvinism, let alone state-Calvinism. American State Fundy-Calvinism would only be a step or two up from the Taliban.

Christian Nationalists who want Protestant/Calvinist confessional state never explain how to get there. They don’t seem very interested in evangelism.

Dan Lamothe@DanLamothe

An early look at the @GWOTMF memorial planned for Washington, D.C, released today. It's planned on what are now athletic fields at the corner of Henry Bacon Drive and Constitution Avenue, near the Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

@nic_lucc Not necessarily what I expected, but my confirmation saint was Francis Xavier. I do also tend to like and agree with Jesuits, and I liked Pope Francis. 🤔

How did I not know that Methodists believe in entire sanctification? I grew up not knowing the difference between them and Presbyterians and still today I know very little about their doctrine

@nic_lucc @Make_it_Raines If it does, it’s for the school kids. St Leonard’s chapel is only open for the university/public once a week (Thursdays if I remember correctly) for candlelit Compline that is led by different pastors in St Andrews rotationally.

@Jordan_Morrow12 @AnneOfTheBooks It opted for a “theological task” that effectively encouraged every individual to come up with their own beliefs (although it wasn’t Outler’s intent) and the UMC in practice has refused to enforce any discipline. The words are still there but the power behind them is long gone.

DFAS is using AI to process retirements… AI apparently doesn’t understand National Guard AGR nuance. Now retired AGR’s are going on 6 months of not being paid. Yay AI.

You want a GWOT memorial that makes sense? 1. Stone. Use stone from the various states that lost service members in Iraq and Afghanistan, the colors would also be evocative of the sand in Iraq and the mountains in Afghanistan. Use font and symbology that equates to Section 60. 2. Columns with the recognizable influence of the WTC in NY, Pentagons, and Keystones for Pennsylvania. Use numbers like 9, 11, and 21 to evoke the dates. 3. Center the service members who made the sacrifice. Like the Vietnam memorial, it should make it plain that the real legacy of the GWOT is the sacrifice born of tragedy. You cannot sugarcoat or sanitize that and have a memorial worthy of their memory.

@TaylorLoy @angcathalex “It’s identical to abbesses (who frequently heard confessions” so therefore it’s not sacramental, instead of maybe accepting that abbesses were ordained, & let’s ignore that abbots were basically identical to bishops; abbesses have no sacramental or spiritual authority at all…🙄

@TaylorLoy @angcathalex It’s incredible copium when Church officials see the ordination liturgy for deaconesses and then say “yes, but it wasn’t sacramental, you see.” That’s the revisionism that trads’ imaginary communists aspire to.

@Osarseph0 If you think theology is just regurgitating passages of Thomas’ Summa Theologiae and that being a theologian means memorizing the Summa Theologiae, then you might be a Thomist.

At what point can one describe themselves as a Thomist? I was formed by Dominicans, tend to agree with St. Thomas on many things, but whether I am a Thomist or not is something I am uncertain of
