I think every male saint should have a beard in icons unless they were a eunuch or reposed a child. The beard depicts a spiritual reality inherent in their manfulness, so it would only be absent to make a specific point about his life, such as youth.

@OocTobeyM The ending we got is better. The Symbiote killing it’s host is a very weird addition & it doesn’t make sense that it wouldn’t have tried to kill Peter for removing it from himself.
Also, Eddie being given a chance to leave the suit but, giving into his addiction is more tragic.

@cursedredsky yes i’m not challenging that, i just find that specific portrayal to be overly emotional, almost teetering on losing control. the chosen scene makes it look like he’s about to have a voice crack. compare w this portrayal, perfectly assertive and angry but controlled

This was good, but Robert Powell in Zefferelli’s 1978 masterpiece ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ takes the cake for that confrontation with the Perushim & Sedukim at the temple, fulfilling in exacting, earthly & spiritual comprehensive detail Malachai’s final prophecy about I AM “coming SUDDENLY to His TEMPLE” (meaning INFINITELY more than the sanctuary made with human hands), emphasizing the surprise nature of the appearance of the suffering servant/angel of the presence, with barely anyone recognizing Him…just like He said they wouldn’t centuries before.

First, I’m not Prot, but the idea that Protestants don’t worship the Father, but instead worship a vague “divine essence” or amalgamated God.

@gladioaires @mugjudge @PatriarchBowser @YariLogos if hypostasis is what is particular and essence is what is common, then even linguistically, the unity is predicated OF THE COMMON ESSENCE.
we don’t say, for example, the Son and Spirit share a common Father bc that would imply they both relate to Him in the same way
