This is a misrepresentation of Ancel Keys. In his book Eat Well and Stay Well (1959), he emphasized that the kind of fat (saturated vs unsaturated) is what matters not simply reducing total fat. He promoted replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats like olive oil. The diets he studied and promoted (e.g., Crete in the Seven Countries Study) were roughly ~30–40% fat, largely from unsaturated sources. That is not low fat! Also, blaming Dwight D. Eisenhower’s heart disease on diet while ignoring heavy smoking leaves out a major confounder.

Cancer is a metabolic disease. This was proven by Otto Warburg in 1940's. Look into research by Dr. Pete Pedersen of Johns Hopkins and Dr. Tom Seyfried of Boston College. He has a book "Cancer Is A Metabolic Disease". They debunked the somatic theory by switching the nucleus of the cancer cell to a normal cell and the nucleus of the normal cell to the cancer cell. Guess what happened? Please read the book.

You sound like my ex-wife's mother's oncologist. Sorry, late mother's. She's dead, and we watched the dietary advice she got accelerate her cancer and eat her alive.
