@kmcnam1 I've got autocommit off so I need to at least type COMMIT before using the footgun and I can unshoot myself fairly easily.
English

@levelsio @spaceMonster @jamespotter Yes, but its two different sessions.
Client -> Cloudflare.
Cloudflare -> Origin.
It is kind of mandatory to implement a CDN and features like WAF.
English

@spaceMonster @jamespotter The connection between Cloudflare to your server in most cases is also HTTPS though if you use Let's Encrypt

@orestistzo @British_Airways @jamesmyers1978 I'm not one to normally defend BA, they get a lot wrong, but they actually don't advertise it as a benefit. Even the Oneworld site notes you don't get it on BA.
#benefits" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">oneworld.com/travel-benefit…

English

@British_Airways @jamesmyers1978 What an extraordinary response! Priority baggage is advertised as a benefit of a certain travel class and priced in the ticket. If the service is not available it should come off the price. You don’t pay for a set 3-course menu if dessert isn’t offered 🙈
English

Dear @British_Airways whats the point of priority labels on luggage if its gonna come out last? So annoying after a #delayedflight #britishairways
English

@CarolSibbald2 @British_Airways I'm in the lounge now. Where were you sitting and I can check if it is still here and hasn't been handed in.
English

Hi @British_Airways I am on a flight to London which is currently boarding. I think I have left my glasses in a black case in the BA business class lounge in Edinburgh. Can someone please check for me? Thank you.
English

@OverclockersUK Hollow Knight, and apparently a fairly common problem.
Had two false starts where I tried to follow the hype but just never got into it.
Then once I broke the barrier I 100%'d it over the next couple of weeks.
English

@JannyWoman @LeeHurstComic There are only 3 entities that have any kind of actual self determination in this current world.
The USA, China and the EU. They are all fragmented in some way, but Britains current condition needs it to ally with one & hope it picks well because sitting on the fence won't work.
English

@LeeHurstComic Neither. I want the seemingly impossible of a Britain that truly rules itself.
But if forced to choose it would be 51st state simply because I could then sit and watch the spontaneous combustion of the Mass Hysteria brigade.
English

@Christo7850 @lembitopik @61_bauhaus Love how this is both correct and also clearly one of the dumbest things I've read in weeks at the same time.
English

@lembitopik @61_bauhaus NO CARBON DIOXIDE.…NO LIFE…simple as that!
These brainless egotistical primadonnas have obviously never heard of PHOTOSYNTHESIS or have they!!

@lauriewired Does an Android phone cancel itself out with the (largely) C kernel and the (largely) Java userspace ?
English

@AskYoshik Honestly. "Google Alpine 3.16 DNS resolver bug docker image". Second result shows they ignored the TC flag.
Check if what was broken would be big enough to need TC and check EDNS UDP bufsize support.
Prove the root cause, swear at Alpine, and run a non broken base image.
English

Interviewer:
Your Kubernetes cluster just failed health checks on 40% of pods. All failing pods are running Alpine 3.16 base images. DNS lookups to external services timeout after 5 seconds. Pods on Alpine 3.15 and 3.17 in the same namespace resolve DNS instantly. Restarting the pods sometimes fixes it for 10-15 minutes, then failures return.
How will you debug?
English

@AaronBastani At this point I've got to assume you are on Huawei's payroll.
English

@robert_cubitt @cezthesocialist Scotland still has some 24x7 shops (inc Sunday), due to different Sunday trade laws.
Even got rid of the "ceremonial closures" that used to be needed to avoid the store becoming a right of way if it had two doors.
Not just big cities too: storelocator.asda.com/scotland/grang…
English

@cezthesocialist There is no law preventing 24 hour shops in the UK (except on Sunday).
Supermarket chains experimented with 24 hour opening but found that the lack of demand after midnight and the expense of dealing with drunks didn't justify the cost of staying open.
English

@levelsio Chicken and Egg.
YOU can't stop people spoofing your IP, but an ISP can their customers spoofing your IP. BCP-38 was written in 2000, but is sadly still far from universally deployed due to the cost being on me, the benefits being on you.
Read this internetsociety.org/blog/2014/07/a…
English

Any way I can avoid my IP getting spoofed?
Can hosting providers check if abuse reports are based on real or spoofed packages?
Matthew Prince 🌥@eastdakota
@levelsio Probably a reflection attack. Your IP spoofed in Port 22 queries to other services which echo back a larger response. Been a lot of these going around lately.
English

@jackpot100cid @mindloz08 @historyinmemes Greyhounds can go a bit faster than that. Low 40's for top speed.
Still getting dunked on by the cheetah, but silvers still good !
English

@mindloz08 @historyinmemes cheetah is 2 times faster at 70 mph, thats insanely fast. winstons top speed is 35 which is still crazy fast
English

@Adidotdev The classic failing the job interview as you're scared the new guy will steal yours :)
English

@haha_girrrl It better not be instant. Because then the hash algorithm is instant, and you can brute force check the hashes (even with salt that disallows precalculation) very quickly.
Your hash algorithm should be (somewhat) computationally expensive and operate in fixed time.
English

@RupertLowe10 You realise this means you will deport nobody as orcs aren't real ?
English

@curiosityonx I'd be trying to calm everyone down.
If the moon was going to crash into the earth like that (even at that speed), there would have already been massive tidal effects, earthquakes, tsunamis and all other kinds of chaos.
They fact there aren't means we can be sure its fake.
English

@phmay_sg @thealepalombo Not being a Schengen member when you are an island isn't really a big deal at all.
English

@thealepalombo The goal of the EU is harmonisation. When taxes are harmonised EU-wide Cyprus will have little competitive edge. As for now it is not even a Schengen member. Many investors will realise that life on a small, isolated island is not the European lifestyle they wanted.
English

I think 80% of families looking for a European base will end up in Cyprus.
Here's why.
15% corporate tax. A 17-year non-dom regime that eliminates tax on foreign dividends and interest with just 60 days of presence. English everywhere. British common law. No wealth tax. No inheritance tax.
340 days of sunshine. EU citizenship after 7 years of residency. Direct flights to London, Dubai, and most of Europe.
Healthcare is affordable and high quality. International schools in every major city. And with €300K in real estate, you qualify for permanent residency if you prefer the investment route. No other country gives you this combination at this price point.
Some people find it boring. As Portugal cools down, 80% of globally mobile families will most likely end up choosing Cyprus.
What's your take: how's life in Cyprus? Is it really as boring? Please share your honest pros and cons.
