When grossing oral maxilla/mandible specimens, knowing the difference between soft tissue and mucosal margins is important. When in doubt, have the surgeon orient you. Also make sure to note bone involvement. Use teeth to help orient. #maxillectomy #pathology

This case is an excellent example of it. Doesn’t have the clinical appearence of oral lichen planus, looks like an extensive verrucous leukoplakia.
