As a member of @HouseSmallBiz, I’m proud to be an advocate for the many amazing small businesses in our #MN01 community. Last week, I met with members of @greatermankato to discuss the issues that impact small businesses in southern Minnesota, and the many wins in the Working Families Tax Cuts that have delivered historic tax relief for Main Street. Thank you for all you do to help our small businesses thrive!

I recently sat down with members of Rochester Area Builders who are leading the way in advancing the building industry in #MN01. With the Mayo Clinic right in our backyard, they provided valuable insights regarding their work on the hospital’s ongoing expansion and the importance of this project to Rochester and our southern Minnesota community.

I appreciated the opportunity to join the Kato Roofing team on the job at Volk Transfer's new site. @KatoRoofing and Volk Transfer Inc. are two excellent examples of #MN01 small businesses that produce high-quality work while giving back to our community. Thank you to our friends at the @ABC_MNandND – who represent many of the great businesses across our region – for joining our visit, as well.

Proud to team up with @RepFischbach to introduce legislation that prevents fraud and abuse within our taxpayer funded programs by giving us a clearer picture into nonprofit organizations that help resettle non-citizens and enroll them in federally funded assistance programs.

I’m grateful for the successful coordination of Operation Cold SNAP between the @USDA Office of Inspector General and @HSI_HQ, which identified more than 20 retail locations suspected of defrauding SNAP in the Twin Cities. American taxpayers deserve to have confidence that our food assistance programs are reaching the intended recipients. I’m glad to see this operation underway, and I will continue leading efforts in Congress to require cooperation and oversight that protects these programs for the Minnesotans who rely on them. fox9.com/news/operation…

Our ethanol industry is a driving force for #MN01’s economy, which is why I’m fighting in Congress to secure year-round E15, reducing costs at the pump for consumers and strengthening markets for our producers. I met with representatives from @GrowthEnergy to discuss biofuel priorities going into this summer driving season and the work I’m doing to advance nationwide, year-round E15 for families and farmers. Great meeting with members of the @MinnesotaPork Producers Association in Washington, DC this week. We discussed our work together to deliver tax relief for generational family farms, invest in trade promotion, and repeal California’s egregious Prop 12 mandate. Representing a top pork producing district, I’m proud to be an advocate for our pig farmers in Congress.

Proud to be a cosponsor of the ALERT Act, legislation that makes commonsense aviation safety reforms following January’s tragic mid-air collision over DCA that took the lives of 67 people. This week, I joined my House colleagues in passing this important legislation which puts in place necessary reforms that will prevent tragedies like this from happening again.

#MN01 is lucky to have one of the world’s largest agricultural processors and food ingredient providers right here in our backyard. While I was at ADM Mankato, I learned more about their soybean processing operation and their products that contribute to our food and industrial supply chains. I’m proud to be a voice in Congress for southern Minnesota ag processors and manufacturers, like ADM, and I appreciated their insights.

Doc’s Recovery House in Rochester provides pre-treatment housing, recovery housing, long-term recovery housing, and peer support to those pursuing a life of recovery from addiction. I recently met with their hardworking team to discuss their programs and opportunities to have an even greater impact for those on the recovery journey. Congratulations, @RepPeteStauber, on the Senate passage of H.J.Res. 140, putting an end to the Biden administration’s mining ban in Minnesota! I was proud to cosponsor this legislation, which serves as an important step toward restoring America's critical mineral supply chains.

Small businesses are the backbone of southern Minnesota and communities across the country. Too often, Washington makes decisions about small businesses without input from our small business owners. That’s why I was proud to introduce the White House Conference on Small Business Act to restore small business owners’ seat at the table. This week, I joined small business owners from #MN01 and across the country to speak on the need for this legislation and the importance of organizing state, regional, and national conferences for entrepreneurs to discuss issues based on their experience.
