I enjoyed speaking with a great group of interns during @HouseAdmin's Summer Intern Lecture Series this week. It's always inspiring to see young individuals engaged in public service and eager to learn how Congress works.

American self-government is not for sale. That is why I authored the bipartisan Stop Foreign Funds in Elections Act with @RepGolden. Ballot measures can rewrite state constitutions, enact or repeal laws, and remove elected officials—yet a dangerous loophole allowed foreign nationals to help finance them. Today, the House unanimously passed our bill to close that loophole. No foreign government, foreign national, or foreign interest should have a hand in deciding the laws Americans live under. On that principle, there should be no division and no exception.
