🙄 No, Star Trek was about society’s social issues of the 1960’s. Those issues over the years may have become political issues but with the network censors: they never would have allowed political issue storylines to air. It’s sad to see how uninformed some are about the past.

🚨 Do you understand what SCOTUS is about to decide? in 1857, the Supreme Court ruled that Black Americans... even those born free on American soil.. could never be citizens.. it was called the Dred Scott decision.. one of the most shameful rulings in legal history.. it took a Civil War and 360,000 Union deaths to fix it.. in 1868, Congress passed the 14th Amendment.. "all persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens".. no exceptions.. no asterisks.. they wrote it that way on purpose.. so no government could ever again decide who counts as American on this soil.. it has stood for 156 years.. Trump signed an executive order trying to end it.. not a constitutional amendment.. not an act of Congress.. an executive order.. and SCOTUS is about to decide if that's allowed.. here's what nobody's saying out loud.. this isn't about immigration.. if a president can override the 14th Amendment with an executive order.. there is no amendment a president cannot override with an executive order.. one executive order just did what the Confederacy couldn't.

Why is everything bad a “demon” or “satanic” all of a sudden? Everywhere I look, someone is describing something in those terms (“evil,” etc) and I don’t understand where it’s coming from or why everyone decided to start speaking like that.

@CuriousDaily_ It’s also about public safety. A loon has no idea he’s dangerous but he is and has to be imprisoned. If a shrink later says he’s cured then even his medical opinion must be discounted due to the serious stakes.

The insanity plea isn’t about excusing the harm someone caused—it’s about whether the justice system actually acknowledges that the person genuinely didn’t understand what they were doing. If we throw that out and just punish no matter what, it stops being real justice and turns into straight-up revenge. Do we want a system built on vengeance, or one that actually runs on principle? Where’s the right balance when someone’s impulse control is completely gone? Thoughts?
