I finally got around to seeing Project Hail Mary. I have to say, it's a great film.
If this film had been released 15 years ago I would have said it's good but unremarkable. But in Our Current Year it's refreshing to see something that's not only entertaining, but has an original story and no trace of wokeness.
One remarkable thing was the alien Rocky. It's very difficult to create a compelling and sympathetic creature character without giving it a face.
To the best of my knowledge, it's unheard of. They broke all the rules of character design. But Rocky stole the show, and I have to say it's quite the accomplishment.
Last note: to my eye this did not look like a big production. There wasn't a huge cast, very few locations, and very few sets.
It goes to show how much you can do when you gather the right talent and let them create.
So yeah, they great job on the film. Now go see the movie.
