I’m tired of people pushing trades work like it’s some easy money grab and lying about what people make. To make the 6 figures they be talking about, you gotta be a union worker for like a decade plus. You not just finna hop in that shit and make big money lmao

Lowe’s is offering $250 million in grants to help those who want to learn the trades, electrician, carpenter, etc. Home Depot lets you watch free videos to learn and get certified through them. This is actually paying you to go to school and learn the trades! If you can’t find work, this is a great opportunity to get into the trades in Texas and electrician makes $250,000 a year

@blerghhh @wealthmoose But again we’d have sprinklers that would have stopped the fire from reaching the EV’s. This fire didn’t start with the ev it started elsewhere and spread. Fire sprinklers have a less than .05 failure rate.

Unfortunately, lithium batteries contain ALL the ingredients (including the oxygen) necessary for this type of combustion. You can submerge a burning battery in water, and it will continue to burn.
The ONLY thing fire fighters can do is try to limit what else near it gets burnt.

@SteveSaretsky @Beefshaver Steve, do you think there’s a middle ground? If a tenant wants a pet, they could provide a deposit to cover cleaning or damage after they leave. I can’t help but think that while they’re living there, it’s their home—so having a pet seems reasonable with the right safeguards.

Not gonna lie, I haven’t raised rent on my tenants since May 2021.
Same renters, almost 5 years now… just kept it the same.
And now I’m watching rents across the GTA start to come down, incentives popping up everywhere just to fill units.
Makes you think… chasing higher rent isn’t always the move. Keeping good tenants might’ve been the better play all along.

This is what draws me to the idea of separatism.
Imagine being free from the Canadian courts, from Canadian criminal law? Free from billions of our dollars building yet more infrastructure in Ontario and Quebec while restricting our own.

On the off chance Alberta pulls this off, I do wonder how many Americans would move up there just to be part of it. Would be interesting to be a part of something young, new, optimistic right here in our back yard. A brand new government like that might hit "reset" on all sorts of restrictive laws; might make it easier to build and do business -- might have cheap housing, lots of good-paying work. More importantly, the people there would be anything but demoralized. Feeling the weight of their own power, looking out at the future, rekindling the spirit of what remains of the great nation of Canada. High chance a giant percentage of Canada's best would move there immediately. That kind of energy is hard to find these days; I bet many would travel or even emigrate to Alberta just to be a part of it.

Last night I caught up with an old friend who still lives in Canada. She's worried. Like, planning for grid collapse worried.
She makes good money, but still can barely afford the basics. She feels like an alien in her own hometown.
