People are going to hate this if it happens, just like they hated it in the 1970s when we tried it before. Just months into permanent DST, the House voted 383-16 to repeal it.

@jbarro This is not correct. You are confusing news projections of who will win with the state completing their count. No state “substantially completes” their vote count within hours of the polls closing.

Everyone can see that other states do accurate and fair vote counts that are substantially complete within hours of polls closing. California has chosen a stupid system and should change the system.

When Democrats act like it's unreasonable to expect the government to count votes in a day or two, how can they expect to convince voters to hand the government billions of dollars for other projects? Do we hold government to high standards or not?

The NY conviction was insane, several liberal outlets ran takes criticizing it on day one, that is how bad it was. It's one of the two events in the last decade that you just can't have keep happening and still have a democracy. The other one took place in early 2021...

I respectfully have a different take... A major vendor, @UnionPacific, decided to paint one of its locomotives in patriotic colors to celebrate America’s 250th birthday as it transports components of a NASA rocket. They also decided to paint “45 47” on the train to recognize the sitting President during this important anniversary. Now, I understand if someone served in a different administration, from a different political party, there may be a bias, but through my lens, what Union Pacific is doing is patriotic. We also happen to be celebrating a lot of NASA’s “meaningful achievements,” including the giant Saturn V, the Moon landing, and other historical moments projected on the Washington Monument during America’s 250th birthday. We similarly have those accomplishments displayed at NASA centers to recognize these historic and world-changing achievements, but it is unlikely we can ask vendors to paint them on every locomotive.

They are considered Mormon even if they join a different church. Meaning that 17 million number includes a lot of dead people and non-Mormons.

The sort of guy who cheats on his wife cheats at other things. Conscientiousness is consistent across a person's lifetime. It's a perfectly fine reason to think less of a candidate for public office.

I am no Constitutional law expert, but it seems like many Americans know very little about the 1st Amendment. Public school employees can't be fired for speech they make outside of school (Pickering v. Board of Education) and there is no hate speech exception (Matal v. Tam)
