The last 3 negative experiences I’ve had in public wrt my mask have been while wearing a white respirator. So, I NEVER usually wear a white one. Who thinks white is somehow more triggering for these ignorant losers?

One of my gym client regulars slides into my DMs. Friendly at first. “Thanks for the protein powder recs. Ordering the BCAA you sent. Thanks.” Then the blade twists in at the end. “I thought you might want to read this.” A MAGA page crowing about Secretary of War Pete Hegseth forcing an Army Chief to step down over an “ignored Covid vaccine injury” that wrecked a soldier’s heart. He knows my story. I told him plainly months ago: I caught Covid hard in 2020. Again in 2021 long before any vaccine ever touched me. The virus tore into my heart muscle while doctors gaslit me for 6 endless years, calling it anxiety, laughing it off, dismissing me as I waited in silent torment for the surgery I finally got. The damage was done and documented by the time I got the shot in January 2023. Yet here comes the link anyway. The casual dismissal. The smug little reminder that my ruined heart, my daily war against crushing fatigue and silent hypoxemia, is somehow fake or my fault. No cancer patient gets cornered with conspiracy screenshots. No one mocks an MS warrior’s wheelchair as a hoax. But Long Covid? We are scum on the bottom of society’s shoe. Open season for endless public torture. I drag myself to class anyway. Smile through the lack of oxygen. Bleed quietly while the world laughs and moves on and blames the vax. It’s slow, relentless torment that never ends and we face it completely alone. Meanwhile, they all keep pushing their anti vax crusade, never once blaming the virus that actually broke us all, and never caring that the shot they demonize is the only lifeline that’s eased my symptoms at all. They are trying to rip away the one thing that finally gave me some ground back. I burn with rage for it. They have tortured me for years, and they won’t stop. I will never be able to befriend or forgive an anti-vaxxer. They have tortured me for over 6 years, and they won’t rest until every vaccine is banned hence ripping away the only lifeline that has eased my symptoms and kept me breathing. That is life or death for me. In other words, they have wished death upon me. And for that, they are forever dead to me.

People would rather see their health and that of their loved ones decline (including children) than change a single thing about the way they live their lives in order to save themselves and others. It’s utterly deranged. What goes on in their heads?

Elderly family member had 4 funerals in last 14 days. One cancer, two hearts suddenly stopped beating, one had been sick on and off for some time. They are now wondering if this is normal. #thenewnormal

“I had Covid and I’m fine”, is a statement I hear a lot. Unfortunately it doesn’t account for the hidden/delayed damage Covid causes. Some other dangerous viruses have minimal or no symptoms during the infection phase but cause major damage later. HIV can have no symptoms upon infection, for years, but lead to AIDS, HPV can have no symptoms, and lead to cancer. Perceived absence of symptoms or damage in the acute phase is not a safety net or a reason to feel comfortable catching Covid repeatedly. Avoid Covid.

My husband had a life-threatening case of shingles affecting FIVE dermatomes including his head, face, neck, and chest. He has significant scarring and PHN. Covid depletes T cells, which leaves the immune system incapable of keeping things like VZV dormant. They want this HIDDEN.

My Twitter break was interesting. Not restorative like people say… but it’s made a few things clear to me. 1. I miss the support I get here, warts & all. 2. After a couple of dramatic mask incidents out in the wild, I remember people are getting shittier in the real world too.

@Team2Jb @bitterbichon I had so many nights coughing as a kid due to colds turning into bronchitis. In university the coughing made it hard to study. I haven’t had that kind of coughing since Nov 2019.

I don't have many regrets in life, but the more I see through personal experience how well KN95s & N95s work to block airborne viruses, I really wish I'd known about them much earlier in life because I sure as hell would have masked during winter before the pandemic started.

@cocomarvgrows So sorry to hear about being harassed for masking. I haven't experienced much except a couple of older gentlemen telling me I didn't need to mask while I was volunteering at a tennis tournament back in 2023.

@Squijibo @cocomarvgrows I had no stares yesterday and you know where I went. There were masked people everywhere I went so I was not the only one. At the university there were people in Breatheteq, Flo and Benehal in addition to blue/black surgicals and cloth masks.

@cocomarvgrows Things are indeed heating up around here. My wife is getting stares and glares for masking again. That hadn't happened for awhile.

Yes I was just driving my kids home from school, had a funny sensation in my mouth, put tongue to tooth & it crumbled away, just like that. That was 3 months after my 2022 Covid infection.
