I want to know what creative hobbies people have that don't involve 1) screens, or 2) the gym. Like good old-fashioned analog activities that involve making something by hand, tending to critters (e.g. chickens, alpacas, star-nosed moles), gardening, etc etc. Bonus points for photos.

@cliftonaduncan Filmed in tiny Wilmington, NC at Carolco studios and a cement plant in Castle Hayne. Several people I worked with were extras in that film.

I saw this movie when it first premiered and loved it. I watched it again recently and was shocked by how well it holds up. It works because they turned a film with an absurd premise (mutant sewer-dwelling turtle-ninjas, mentored by a rat) into a timeless story about the importance of family: Master Splinter (the rat) is the Sage archetype, and a father figure for the adolescent turtles, and @Heyjude629 smartly plays April O'Neil as a tough, stabilizing maternal force. Shredder, the villain, is the Dark Father. The film reveals early on that his Foot Clan is, like many gangs, comprised entirely of wayward teenage boys. The story resolves only after the titular heroes learn to unite under the leadership of their father. Only then can the Shredder be defeated (and his young male followers shown a better way). Because the animatronics and puppetry are so exquisite, suspension of disbelief is much easier than it would be with expensive but alienating CGI. The film feels more "real" because all this work was done by humans, not by computers. The reason there's so much nostalgia for decades past--and why so much media from the past enjoys popularity today--is that no matter how young you are you feel the emptiness of modern society, and part of that emptiness you feel is the result of a mechanized pop culture created by cynical people who are ideologically hostile to everything that makes life worth living.

@KelleyKga @grok @elonmusk In our Windows 11 installation, initially, we could not get rid of the Copilot Icon on our Word documents in lower right corner. IT support could not suppress it. Reminiscent of Clippy, which users could suppress. AI run wild.

@scstse @grok @elonmusk Grok actually did fix my problem. LOL, unreal how bad Copilot did at this.

I tried using Copilot to troubleshoot an annoying Outlook error message when updating my email signature today after not finding any helpful solutions in Google. I spent 20+ minutes following Copilot suggestions to troubleshoot the problem by checking settings in Trust Center, Group Policy, and RegEdit to no avail, then eventually Copilot told me to update Microsoft 365 and reboot, but that still didn't fix the problem. At that point, Copilot told me this makes complete sense because Microsoft deprecated the RTF/TXT generator, but Outlook Classic still calls it. Gee, thanks for wasting my time, Copilot. The only thing that softened the blow is that Copilot completely threw Microsoft under the bus for this (below). But THEN I talked to my husband and found he's on the same version of Outlook as me, but he doesn't get the same error message when saving signatures. 🤬 I guess I'm uninstalling and reinstalling Office from scratch tonight because now I'm really frustrated.

@KelleyKga Have found @Grok to be a lot more useful than Microsoft's "tools" for fixing problems, and similarly for issues with Android. The solutions have often been on point and very helpful. @elonmusk will be happy to hear this.

I thought Copilot might have some extra insight, considering my problem is with Microsoft Outlook, but sadly, it seems as clueless as I am about how to fix the problem.
