Credit where it's due. My case manager @MDAndersonNews got on the phone this morning with @Cigna and accelerated my preauthorization for treatment. Got it done. Patients need a team of advocates -- family, physicians, case managers, themselves, etc -- to make sure the system doesn't roll right over them. It may not come naturally, or maybe it does, but it's absolutely critical to avoid all the bullshit that inevitably gets thrown your way. Thank you.
