Claude Code works great out of the box, so I personally don't customize it much. Your app is probably 100-300ms slower than it needs to be... and it's CORS's fault. Every cross origin fetch can trigger an extra preflight round trip. Even to your api on a subdomain. Serve your API behind a proxy (ex /api) and those slow preflights disappear!
