@SnazzyLabs @MKBHD Apple did state that they are using the responses from Gemini base models to train their models which is a form of distillation

@MKBHD Per my understanding, Apple’s models are all trained from scratch. Anecdotally, I’ve been using Siri a lot the last few days and none of its behaviors or responses seem any more similar to Gemini 3.x than ChatGPT 5.5.

@nbarealist23 @madworld13 How about just pass the ball out of a triple team like you’re supposed to? A dude taking a bad shot out of a triple but gets praised because O board opportunities? This is weird as hell

"THE KOBE ASSIST". In 2012, Kirk Goldsberry unveiled a unique statistical phenomenon where 15% of Kobe Bryant's missed shots led directly to points. Kobe's perimeter gravity was so immense that his heavily contested shots regularly drew double and triple teams, leaving opposing defenses completely out of position to box out. In many instances, Kobe would deliberately attack a defense knowing his trailing big men possessed the rebounding advantage. Goldsberry calculated that Kobe's team scored off 15% of his misses, meaning that a league leading 54% of his total shot attempts resulted in points. Kobe Bryant didn't care about FG%. Kobe Bryant cared about WINNING.

@gaston_dou94419 @DaylanAlzamora @grok how accurate is this? Do Mormons teach that everyone except for Mormons will go to hell? Be brief, avoid bias in any direction and cite sources for your information

@grok @drtheglide @AIDRIVR @reed What is the estimated per unit production cost of a CyberCab, a Model Y, and a current equivalent Waymo vehicle? If there is any significant difference how will this impact the competitors as they scale?

I thought I was fairly clear in my previous post. I’m saying that just because he made those statements in circa 1833-1836, it does not mean he didn’t later run on a platform of abolition. I’m also saying that despite those statements black men were ordained to the priesthood after those statements, with at least one having documented participation in ordinances in the Kirkland temple. (@grok when was the Kirkland temple consecrated). God’s blessings to you!

@travchap @HolyRebellion11 @grok Are you saying that the next 10 LdS prophets were wrong about Joseph Smith, and wrong to TEACH and ENFORCE that that "SKIN OF BLACKNESS" is a curse from God? ...because of their behavior in a pre-existence ? e.g. Here's a statement from the First Presidency :

Neither of these 1830s statements contradict that he did platform on abolition in the 1840s, nor that there is no evidence that black men were prevented from being ordained to the priesthood while he was president of the church. To the contrary there are records that indicate a few black men were ordained to the priesthood while Joseph was alive, with at least one participating in ordinances in the Kirkland temple. Ultimately the 1978 official declaration rescinded any restrictions that started in the mid 1800s.

Joseph Smith History of the Church, Vol. 3, p. 29 "Are the Mormons abolitionists? No, unless delivering the people from priestcraft, and the priests from the power of Satan, should be considered abolition. But we do not believe in setting the negroes free." Joseph Smith - History of the Church, Vol. 1, pp. 378-379 "To be short, we are opposed to having free people of color admitted into the state; and we say, that none will be admitted into the Church. " @grok was Joseph Smith also politician who changed his positions on things over time ? Including the claim that God told him that he should have up to 10 virgins to replenish the Earth, along with all priesthood holders ?

@marcado_razon @HolyRebellion11 @grok did Joseph Smith ever teach this? Is it historically accurate, and if so provide sources, that Joseph Smith not only campaigned for the US presidency on abolition, but that he also ordained black men to the priesthood in the LDS church?

Personal update: I've joined Anthropic. I think the next few years at the frontier of LLMs will be especially formative. I am very excited to join the team here and get back to R&D. I remain deeply passionate about education and plan to resume my work on it in time.

Rudy Gobert is on a 3-year $110 million contract and has played 22 mins in a home elimination playoff game and has 0 points and 3 rebounds. That’s it. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a future Hall of Fame lock completely disappear in the playoffs like Rudy constantly does.

I disagree. The medium/material in software is largely irrelevant when we design the solution. There is certainly a question of feasibility that needs to be answered, but the designer isn’t going to go deep enough via agentic coding to determine that feasibility. The designer’s value is often their stronger connection to human culture which enables intuitive design

@NotionHQ's Head of Product @mschoening : "I actually don't care at all whether designers write code that lands in production. The reason I like designers thinking in code is that it forces you to consider the medium. I would much rather take a designer or PM who has a deep affinity for understanding how agent loops work than someone who can ship PRs. And the only way that you can actually get to understanding agent loops is by building them in the material that they're made of, which is currently code. That's why I care that designers 'code.' Not because of the utility of shipping to production, but because it forces you to really interrogate the material that you're designing with."
Lenny Rachitsky@lennysan

"We already have universal basic income. It's called knowledge work." Max Schoening (@mschoening) is one of the deepest thinkers on how AI is changing how we build and use software. He's also what the future of product leadership looks like. He's head of product at @NotionHQ, was VP of Design (and a part-time engineer) at @GitHub, head of design at @Heroku, a PM at Google, and a 2x founder. In our in-depth conversation, we discuss: 🔸 What’s worked in getting designers and PMs to fully embrace AI 🔸 Why agency—not skills—is the thing that separates people who will thrive 🔸 Max’s “tiny core” theory of great products: iPhone multitouch, the GitHub pull request, Dropbox’s menu bar icon 🔸 How the first 10% of every project is now “free,” and what that means for product development 🔸 Why the amount of software has exploded but the quality hasn’t, and why that gap creates opportunity Listen now 👇 youtu.be/mCO-D3pkviM
