Ministerstwo Spraw Zagranicznych RP z oburzeniem odnotowuje kolejny przypadek znieważenia uczuć religijnych przez żołnierza Izraelskich Sił Obrony (IDF) w Libanie. Pogarda z jaką potraktował figurę Matki Boskiej obraża wrażliwość chrześcijan. Artykuł 18 Powszechnej Deklaracji Praw Człowieka uchwalonej przez Zgromadzenie Ogólne Narodów Zjednoczonych w 1948 roku stanowi, że „każdy ma prawo do wolności myśli, sumienia i religii.” Przystępując do ONZ, Izrael przyjął wartości tej organizacji wyrażone w Deklaracji. Ta sama zasada wolności religijnej znalazła odzwierciedlenie w Deklaracji Niepodległości Izraela przyjętej również w 1948 roku. Do grona sygnatariuszy należy natomiast Liban, na terytorium którego doszło do incydentu. Obowiązek zapewnienia poszanowania tego prawa o fundamentalnym znaczeniu dla godności człowieka spoczywa na każdym państwie. W Polsce znieważanie czyichkolwiek uczuć religijnych jest czynem karalnym. Kolejny incydent z udziałem przedstawiciela Państwa Izrael, naruszający uczucia religijne chrześcijan, nie tworzy atmosfery sprzyjającej pokojowi na Bliskim Wschodzie i rozwojowi współpracy. MSZ RP niezmiennie potępia przejawy wszelkiej dyskryminacji religijnej na świecie.

Have you been to Europe recently? A word about bottle caps. They don’t completely detach. It’s an environmental measure. Also I assume toddlers are less likely to swallow one. I will admit it took me a year to get used to it but now I am and it’s fine.

Most European coffee shops try to squeeze people with laptops out. This will kill their business
They use chairs and tables uncomfortable for work, and install laptop-free zones
This is not only terrible to customers; it’s a bad business decision
Clients who just come to socialise and read a book spend about the same as people who come to work on laptops
But laptop folks come way more often: 3-5 times a week, compared to just once on a weekend for the non-laptop crowd
They also tend to stick to the same coffee place for years, because it’s literally where they come to work
That means that customers with laptops have orders of magnitude higher LTV
The competition on the coffee scene is crazy, and every percentage of marginality is a matter of life and death
Laptop-friendly coffeeshops are doing a better job of getting $ from their customers
So they will eventually kick ass out of the EU digital-detox-read-paper-book coffeeshops, and we will have many more laptop-friendly places
