I think it’d be incredible as a tool for creativity and for machines to help creativity. The good side of it’s important for moving forward in a beautiful way.”" But does he acknowledge the threat it poses to creative industries? The ones against it will just fall behind, I took an original remix I did and did a vip using suno, downloaded stims, cut generated vocals/whatever else I didn't like, moved stuff around and readded the original vocals.. then mastered. Don't let anti-AI sentiment slow you down. People are building incredible careers. Lots of agencies, studios are using it (even if some are still discreet about it). Don't be left behind. It's okay to use AI. Some people found a lot of success by being early and posting early about AI when there was the most backlash. But it's not too late. You can still succeed. You're a pioneer. I believe in you all and in power of AI to improve our lives.

@chasews @nosilverv @visakanv my working model is that bc AI is trained on predictable patterns (Suno pop music, mid Substack essays) artists will have to find new ways of deviating from what will become oppressively boring forms and I'm so here for it

I have also been thinking about the question of whether AI Art is actually Art. I believe it is not. My reasoning is as follows… When we wish to criticize the work of human beings we say that it is ‘manufactured,’ or worse ‘exploitative.’ If, for example, a film is both of these things, then we do not consider it ‘Art’ with a capital A. It is simply ‘commercial trash.’ By definition everything that AI makes is both manufactured and exploitative. It is manufactured because it is produced by a machine. It is exploitative because it was created by regurgitating the work of actual human beings. Therefore it is not Art, but it is a product like any other. That doesn’t mean it has no use. I think it will become essential in many ways. But we must not mistake what it does for genuine creativity. Not yet anyway…

We've noticed this too. It seems many AI songs are not, as you might expect, repetitive, but the opposite. Instead of a standard ending, the song will change direction slgihtly. Melody lines almost always have slight variations. It's an interesting phenomenon.
