I’ve always been a die hard “watch the official stream” defender. But considering how bad NASA’s stream was I might have to reconsider for the next one. How did they black out TWICE during the first seconds of takeoff, miss booster separation, and keep losing the rocket.

@cybrtrkguy Shuttle was the F111 of space craft. It had to do everything for everyone which ment it was over complicated and very expensive. Also NASA likes to build Ferraris not Fords or Chevies. Then once we had a few, congress would not fund any more.

Space X operates on the old X program concepts. Build the best you can, fly it until it won't fly anymore, take what you learned and build a better one. In the case of rockets, that means things blow up, but you learn from every one. I suspect one iteration of starship costs less than the door on Orion.

There was a great documentary on Netflix a while ago that showed how NASA and SpaceX operate differently. NASA won’t build something until they (think) it’ll run flawlessly and then they build one. SpaceX will blow up 50 rockets and learn something from every failure and iterate from that.
