Jess phillips should resign Today she publicly called me a liar to the whole nation when she knew i wasnt lying. Im a grooming gang survivor who has been called a liar her whole life by public services and councils to try and cover up the horrendous abuse they let happen to me as a child. She has now just done the same as they did to me for years, all to save her own skin. How can she continue to be safeguarding minister for women and children?

The sickening crimes of the Rochdale rape gang convicted today deserve the harshest sentences. I’ve consistently said I’m open to a national inquiry into grooming gangs, including those of Pakistani heritage, and this confirms we need one. Whether national or local inquiries are deployed, both need statutory powers to compel witnesses before them. And they should follow the evidence, wherever it leads them. No political party, no council, no police officer, no social worker, no racial group should be exempt from the need to find the facts. It appalls me that one of these paedophiles absconded before the trial. And that several of the Rochdale-born men tried to abscond to Pakistan. I pay tribute to the bravery of the victims and to the police and prosecutors for securing justice after all these years. But we still need accountability for everything that went wrong. @wild_jo @AndyBurnhamGM Hi Jo-Anne. We are sorry for the frustration you feel. Unfortunately the overcrowding was unprecedented due to the parade. Arrangements with various other TOCS, allowing customers flexible travel were in place. But with such a parade, there is only so much we can prepare for. 1/2
