Microsoft has reportedly shut down Compulsion Games, the studio behind South of Midnight. The report comes after Mike Straw said employees at Compulsion and Arkane were worried about their studios’ future. He later added that some of his sources were senior staff, who said there was “real concern” inside the teams. Compulsion joined Xbox in 2018 and released South of Midnight in 2025. The game recently won a Peabody Award lol Microsoft hasn’t commented on the report so far.

Blizzard has filed a lawsuit against Project Ascension, one of the largest custom World of Warcraft private servers. Blizzard claims that Project Ascension uses World of Warcraft content without permission and profits from it through donations and premium features. The company also accuses the server of bypassing Blizzard’s protections, violating U.S. copyright law. Project Ascension is known for major changes to the game, including a classless system and other custom features that have made it popular with players. Project Ascension has not yet had its day in court and will have a chance to respond, but we know how this will end.. The lawsuit is another example of Blizzard taking action against private World of Warcraft servers

He didn't cry when they saw the blood-soaked shirt used in a desperate attempt to save Austin's life. But he cried when he was found guilty. And he cried again when he was sentenced to 35 years. The only tears the jury saw were for his own fate, not for the life that was taken. Austin Metcalf was robbed of his high school graduation, he will never get another birthday, another chance to live the life that was stolen from him. Thirty-five years may be justice under the law, but for many, it doesn't feel like enough.

Can someone explain the double standard to me? MixTape — a game literally about minors with a kissing mini-game — gets called a 10/10 masterpiece by IGN and the usual crowd. But Stellar Blade Blood Rain with an athletic, adult gymnast-built Evie? Suddenly it’s “pedo bait” and problematic. How does this rating & outrage standard even exist?
