I don't use this account anymore but it's still active. Every few days 'X' sends me a notification pointing me towards some bizarre far-right shit a million miles away from anything I've ever posted or looked at on here. So yeah this app is now actively evil FWIW

Fast approaching 10,000 signatures. Please take a moment to sign if you like awesome independent bottle shops (and Portugese cafes!) and object to Seven Dials being turned into the Co-op District of Brighton...
Caroline Lucas@CarolineLucas

Great to catch up with Adelia & Louise from Latina café and Seven Cellars with @sianberry. We're supporting both of these much loved #Brighton businesses, alongside thousands from the local community - & you can too by signing their petition! #SevenDials change.org/p/save-our-sho…

@JusRolUKIreland Why do I have to assemble my own so-called "ready to bake" cinnamon swirls now? It's impossible to roll them tight enough and to spread the cinnamon evenly. Why have you done this!? Ruined my Sunday :(

@monzo Can I *please* have help w/ dispute raised more than a week ago after being scammed out of over £600? Can't get through by phone & chat function useless. It's causing me serious stress. Been referred to your complaints team but what I really need is someone to *talk* to me

Eight members of staff at checking tickets at Preston Park this morning. This at a station about to lose its ticket office. Train late as it is almost every day. @TLRailUK, do you have your priorities right?

@FatalGlass It's more comfortable and stable to hold it like that when it's full, with your forefinger sharing the weight, and prevents it tipping if you get jostled.

My partner was recently in Berlin with friends. They all ordered litres of beer. The waiter told them it was "brewhouse etiquette" not to hold onto the handle and to lift it with one hand hand round the middle of the glass instead. Has anyone else ever heard this? New one on me!

@alldoomandgloom Noodles at Xi'an BiangBiang (plenty of good vegan options), Whitechapel Gallery (main exhibition is free & good ATM), pint at Aldgate Tap. Perfect. Tofu Vegan (Islington) is my fave London restaurant but a bit pricey.

@FatalGlass I can do basic transactional German. Really the main barrier is anxiety. There are many English speakers here and everyone is keen to get along. Zoigl culture is about social bonding and there are many ways to be understood.

Beim Binner, Windischeschenbach 🇩🇪 2nd visit of the trip. This time in the Zoiglstube itself. Usual genteel environment. A family operation with young son and daughters involved. 1st try of Leberkas which is lovely. 1st Zoigl not well poured but the 2n, a Pfiff, is excellent🍻👍

@eoghanwalsh I read it in English (I can *maybe* read children's books in Dutch and that's about it), but La Superba by Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer is excellent.

Genuine question - what is so bad about queues in pubs? Is it just a case of ‘it’s not the done thing’ or is there more to it?

@JohnnyBeerBoy Yeah I do get that. It is kind of weird but I dunno, part of my thinks ‘why not?’ Only a matter of time before someone accuses me of not being a proper ‘pubman’ or something but I don’t get the fuss

@FatalGlass It's actually kind of like the discussion about Jonny Bairstow's dismissal in the last Ashes test. Is it technically fair enough? Sure. But it's just not in the spirit of the pub.

@MarkNJohnson Fair objections. I’ve got mixed feelings about drinking at the bar, possibly controversially. 2 big pet peeves for me are not being able to get served bc the bar is blocked by people drinking, & people barging in front of me & getting served first - less likely in a proper queue

@FatalGlass Various things. The main ones being that bar service space and seating are generally separate. Queues mean that seated customers have people queuing next to them, as well as blocking movement. And also the culture of drinking at the bar is affected
