So when a government cannot afford all the spending they want to do, and the market for government bonds have dried up, they start to beg the public to use their money to "invest" to cover spending. I don't see this as an opportunity to invest in Canada, I see this as a big red flag that Canada is broke and heading towards bankruptcy. Just another reason Alberta should consider packing up and leaving.
