One of the earliest one make series for gentlemen racers was the Prosport 3000 Series In an era where UK racing was far less over-saturated, it basically lost out to the TVR Tuscan Challenge. Few were actually made, but the ones that were have lived a thousand lives!

@KateFantom I still struggle to see how anyone buys JLR products having been total dog poo for years. Normally its lemmings wanting the badge not the car.

Here’s another reason why I prefer my MG5 and I know this is JLR kit and it’s absolutely shite, but still, how do people afford to run these. I’ve just fixed my mates Evoque. @modernheroestv We have a customer with a lot of small vans. They use them for work and it avoids the BIK shit.

Are these tiny vans actually popular anywhere? I love the idea of them, you get a Dacia Spring with the same setup, but do people actually buy them?

Cheap (<£2,000), automatic, old man car challenge - what would you have? 👴🏻 Citroen C6 Exclusive - Has to be the 2.7 V6 HDI at this price point. Can be an utter nightmare but seriously cool cars IMO. Ford Mondeo Ghia X or Titanium X - 2.5 V6 is the one to have obviously (if you can find one), 2.0 TDCi is a good engine though albeit a bit agricultural. Jaguar X-Type Facelift Estate - As much I’d sooner have the petrol, ultimate old man spec is the 2.2D in Sovereign trim. Rover 75 ‘Connoisseur’ Estate - Not sure the engine really matters with this one as long as it’s an auto. 2.0 CDTi is the easiest to come by in the UK, originally a BMW derived engine.

@ListerLawrence If this was a stock car we have seen a fair few items taken off new cars to fix especially around the September shutdown.

My Dad is 70 in December so as a family we bought him a new Range Rover that we are collecting now. Look at this for build quality - I mean it beggars belief! I wouldn’t mind too much if it was for me, but he’s had a bad health year and this was meant to be a special day.
