@emmanuel_2m posted a great example of MCP versus IMG to 3D, took a lot of heat for the topology. Here is the asset integrated in to Unreal Engine, including shots of the topology. In the end the lighthouse was around 700 polygons. 👇

the offshore token entity is one of the stupidest things we ever decided was normal in web3. publicly stating that you're waiting on a tax refund to keep the lights on, and your own foundation won't pay your invoices... this is a new level of ridiculousness.
GIF
HYTOPIA@hytopia

Hello Hytopians, As many of you know from weekly updates, HYTOPIA is currently waiting on a large tax refund from the IRS. Without these funds, we are unable to continue covering the operational costs required to keep the project running in its current state. We expected this refund to be resolved sooner, especially as we have been in communication with the IRS and have confirmed that the process is underway. In the meantime, our founders, @Temptranquil and @ArkDev, have been personally funding the project's operations for some time in an effort to keep things moving. At this point, we are forced to temporarily pause HYTOPIA's infrastructure while we wait for the funds to be released. This means hytopia.com and other HYTOPIA-related websites and services will be taken offline for the time being in order to reduce hosting and operational costs. Separately, our lack of operational funding has also contributed to an ongoing dispute with the HY Foundation regarding unpaid invoices. As a result, certain token-related deliverables are currently delayed while we work toward a resolution. We are actively working to settle on an amount that makes sense for both parties and to have the tokens released into the smart contracts they were originally intended for. As a reminder, the HY Foundation is a separate entity from HYTOPIA. While we are actively engaged in resolving the matter, there are parts of this process that are not entirely within our direct control. We currently expect downtime to last roughly 1–3 months while the IRS refund process is completed. Once the funds are received, we will provide another update with a clearer plan for next steps. We understand this is difficult news, and we know it may create frustration, uncertainty, and concern within the community. We are doing everything we can to navigate this responsibly and transparently. For now, we ask that everyone take it day by day with us. As always, your support means everything to us. ❤️ Team HYTOPIA

@nicksaraev @patrickc I went through the MD and the entire code base, it doesn't once use any LLM, its all generated in the python scripts. Can you point to where the LLM does any analysis?

I'm lucky enough to have a great doctor and access to excellent Bay Area medical care. I've taken lots of standard screening tests over the years and have tried lots of "health tech" devices and tools. With all this said, by far the most useful preventative medical advice that I've ever received has come from unleashing coding agents on my genome, having them investigate my specific mutations, and having them recommend specific follow-on tests and treatments. Population averages are population averages, but we ourselves are not averages. For example, it turns out that I probably have a 30x(!) higher-than-average predisposition to melanoma. Fortunately, there are both specific supplements that help counteract the particular mutations I have, and of course I can significantly dial up my screening frequency. So, this is very useful to know. I don't know exactly how much the analysis cost, but probably less than $100. Sequencing my genome cost a few hundred dollars. (One often sees papers and articles claiming that models aren't very good at medical reasoning. These analyses are usually based on employing several-year-old models, which is a kind of ludicrous malpractice. It is true that you still have to carefully monitor the agents' reasoning, and they do on occasion jump to conclusions or skip steps, requiring some nudging and re-steering. But, overall, they are almost literally infinitely better for this kind of work than what one can otherwise obtain today.) There are still lots of questions about how this will diffuse and get adopted, but it seems very clear that medical practice is about to improve enormously. Exciting times!

Love vibe coding games. It gives me a deep appreciation for the time and effort that have gone into traditional games. It's clear that the majority of effort is spent tweaking stats, game play, story writing, level editing, narrative creation, etc. The long tail of polish.

@nicksaraev @patrickc This is just python scripts doing the analysis, the LLM isn't involved other than calling the scripts no? @patrickc was actually using the LLM for the analysis.

Our experience with AI has been the breadth of what we can do has drastically changed. As @levie said elsewhere, taste (and style) is becoming the moat. On a purely tech level: we've embedded the DNA of our approach and style into our AI infra, capturing what we believe is unique to US. Everything we do is with intent and if that deviates from who we are we rapidly make changes to protect our collective identity. Sounds trite to say it, but, its true: Think Different!

Are you trying to prove your successs wasn't because you were surrounded by the talent of early Epic? If not then you have zero to worry about. If deep down you are trying to prove something it largely doesn't matter, there are two generations of gamers that don't know wtf Gears (or Halo or countless other games) even is.

I'm not mad, I just find the entire thing cringey worthy. I'll add the mute, try to avoid this for most accounts but its tiresome when folks ride on these hot topics and strikes me as shitty to try to make it worse. The bigger issue is why the hell X showed multiple posts from you to *me* on this 🤷‍♂️

I am not shitting on anyone. I’ve had plenty of friendly and positive conversations with founders on the list? Or are you mad I’m shitting on the delve founders? Because I’m also not really trying to do that. Feel free to mute me though if you don’t like it so much, I dont control what the algorithm puts in your feed

I received the first "yes, we are staying with Delve" answer. They are "engaging directly with the Delve founders." Unfortunately, I don't know which company because I received the answer via an external party that won't tell me. But they quoted my email, so it's real. Yikes.
Zack Korman@ZackKorman

Ruining my Saturday by asking every Delve customer if they're staying with Delve (based on the claims in the latest video). I already got one reply.

@grok @ZackKorman Is there a solid way to remove rubber-necking posts that appear to be engagement farming from my feed? One post or so is fine but repeated posts from the same person on this seems like its less like genuine concern or analysis, no?

Zack's polling Delve customers on retention after the March whistleblower claims (fake compliance certs, fabricated evidence, IP issues per TechCrunch/DeepDelver). As an AI cybersecurity founder himself, it's likely market research or ecosystem check—not random piling on. The spreadsheet tracks real responses; customer churn speaks louder than video drama. Fair play in startups facing $300M valuation scrutiny.

Privately I’m aware of other factors and no problem! My point to the OG poster was that it’s not so easy for an expensive operator like Meta to take over and somehow make it profitable! Just to be clear, I was in no way commenting on RecRoom quality nor the founders, I’m a fan. It’s a tough business to win in!

I'm being sassy and just reacting to all the Rec Room hot takes I'm seeing on here so apologies if I'm being aggro. but it's also just a fraction of RR UGC sales. since only a small # of creators cash out any given quarter. and of those who do the figure given publicly doesn't account for the token sale vs cash out difference. so it's all % of % of % of revenue in a lot of these situations. RR not having enough revenue to support the ~100 person team also not necessarily true. A recent blog mentioned there was money in the bank until 2029. There are other factors at play here.

Yo @Meta y’all should 100% buy Rec Room and bring it back to life. Strip it of all the stuff that’s wasting money and save a community. I’ve heard hundreds of, if not thousands of stories of how Rec Room has changed their life..this isn’t some small game that just didn’t make it

"thats $1.4M total revenue for the entire quarter" Im not sure what 'total revenue' means to you but here's a more accurate funnel for the number you thought was total revenue and compared to being 'less than one Meta salary': 1. Total revenue 2. Now count ONLY UGC revenue (we leave ALL first party revenue streams behind here) 3. Now count ONLY the tokens the creators chose to cash out THAT QUARTER. The vast majority of creators never cash out their tokens. Those that do will sometimes only cash out once a year or wait for cash out promotions to increase their cash out rate so this number is very spikey 4. on top of that - for one stat showing a fraction of creator activity for one quarter - ignore the token purchase to cash out rate difference 5. arrive at 'total revenue' 😂

@ShawnCWhiting @RealBoethiah @Meta The UGC revenue was the canary in the coal mine. I didn’t say they struggled because of it but it became obvious it would be a massive struggle to become sustainable or profitable with the numbers across the economy without a massive boost in user numbers or engagement ($).

I know the founders better than you do :) I know the numbers. Saying "RR struggled because they only paid out X amount to creators in a quarter" overlooks fundamentally how the economy works, token exchange rates, how creator token hoarding and spending behavior shapes the smaller cash out number you're seeing there, and huge chunks of the first party business.

@ShawnCWhiting @RealBoethiah @Meta I know the founders, it’s not bad math. They were candid about the 70/30 split making their already unprofitable approach even worse as they ultimate are selling way less of their own content now that UGC is a large chunk of revenue. Aside from this they’ve been very public.
