Last year 46% of Sudanese students admitted to the UK claimed asylum, and 99% of Sudanese asylum seekers have their claims approved as a first decision. It's unfortunate for legitimate students, but the route was clearly being abused, and must be closed.

Tragic decision given bus speeds are at a 10yr low and this spot is especially bad. Painful irony too coming from the Cabinet Member for Inequality given that people on the lowest incomes rely most on buses. Let alone, supporting buses is supporting a public service for everyone.
