@Bongo83948 @ThoughtfulSaint That wasn’t the point of the example. You have an immortal nature incapable of certain things and a mortal nature that is capable of other things. Your immortal nature, on Mormonism, is necessary. Your human nature is contingent. That’s the same thing with the two nature theory.

@PopePiusIXStan @ThoughtfulSaint Your example doesn’t work because we are not premortal spirits and mortal beings at the same time, where your claim necessitates Christ’s two natures exist simultaneously.

People suffer in a nature. For example, in your spiritual nature in the preexistence you didnt become hungry because you didn’t have a body. You’re on earth now and now you do. Same difference with the two natures of Christ.
Thoughtful-Faith@ThoughtfulSaint

@GoWithJordan_ Natures don’t suffer. People do. The syllogism forces you to only have one person. That person either suffers or they don’t. You are conflating categories

FR. MURR ON UPCOMING SSPX CONSECRATIONS Two months ago, Fr. Charles Murr made a crucial point regarding the upcoming SSPX episcopal consecrations: “This is not simply about the Latin Mass…. It’s about the whole state of the Catholic Church today,” he said. “You either see the state of the Catholic Church today as chaotic and in an emergency state or you don’t.” Source: youtube.com/watch?v=trbK-b…

DR. KWASNIEWSKI ON UPCOMING SSPX CONSECRATIONS I’ve been meaning to prepare and post this clip of @DrKwasniewski since this show premiered two months ago (his comments struck me as significant). Thoughts about his concerns? @AuditeInsulae Source: youtube.com/watch?v=34Ookq…

@PopePiusIXStan @moroni7_3 The modern Catechism of the Catholic Church was finalized in 1992. 1556 for the original. Either way it took millenia to create it. LDS isnt even 200 years since the restoration.

I see where you are coming from…but isn’t it kind of weird that there isn’t a systematic statement of what Latter-day Saints believe? Just saying, if you can kind of believe anything why have the label?
Brother Knight😎@realKellyKnight

Can we normalize not saying “Latter-day Saints believe.” Not all Latter-day Saints necessarily believe the same things. One might say “I believe” and be accurate. Or one might say “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches…” and may be accurate. That’s all.

@PopePiusIXStan As lifelong Catholic, & a liturgical moderate, agree with much of this. But not ad orientem. Ad orientem, with vernacular, was the primary motivation of V2 liturgical reform. It’s impersonal & traditional for trad sake (which means qualitatively/symbolically useless).

If Pope Leo XIV wants to make the Novus Ordo more reverent as he says, he should do at least these three things: 1. Restore the Tridentine offertory prayers 2. Use only the Roman Canon (Eucharistic Prayer 1) 3. Priest always ad orientem

@PopePiusIXStan The Confiteor should be mandatory and the general absolution for venial sins at the beginning of mass should also be taken from the Old Order to the New Order Mass.

I live in Phoenix. There is a very large SSPX priory here. There is a fairly large FSSP parish here. Say magically, overnight, the SSPX closed up shop and everyone migrated over to the FSSP parish. There is no way they could accommodate everyone. There aren’t enough priests. There aren’t enough masses. There aren’t enough pews. The FSSP would need a new church building, add three priests to the priory and build a K-12 school. (The SSPX priory here is actually in a much better position to take in everyone)

@daniel_see1978 The greatest argument against sedevacantism is sedes themselves. Even when you try to have a charitable exchange they can’t help themselves.

If you’re saying that something is impossible, the onus is on you to show that something is contradictory. You haven’t done that. Also, it’s not special pleading. Special pleading is when you make something the exception just because. Clearly God is the exception to many rules being that God is the only member of a class. Also, I gave a second example. If you’re an eternal spirit and also a human being (which would imply a created body) then you have two natures.

@PopePiusIXStan You can’t use the example in question. I am asking if you can provide any other example of a single person having 2 natures. If you can’t your explanation is ad hoc and just special pleading.

@PopePiusIXStan That would be a half-trident, which seems to be illogicall. Wouldn't it be better to return to Trident rite instead of making some weird changes in NOM? That's the easiest solution.
