Jesus does and he claims pre-existence before Abraham. Mormons don’t believe in the eternity of Jesus. Jesus has authority and Mormons believe things he directly teaches against. Thanks for trying.
Chris Fowler@fowlercnx

@TheModerateCase And you have authority to determine this?

This is why I can hardly take LDS seriously.
Michael Nielsen@MichaelNie73890

@thechurchsplit The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only Christian faith that is logical. All others inevitably lead to Calvinism and the Calvinist God is demonstrably evil.

If Mormons were true Christians then they would not: 1)proclaim the Book of Mormon to be true 2)proclaim Joseph Smith was a true prophet 3)teach tithing as a command 4)follow drink restrictions 5)Practice temple rituals 6)Sing praises to Smith 7)follow modern “prophets”

I am starting to believe that our critics know absolutely nothing about the Church; they certainly have never read the Book of Mormon.

A bit reason why... claiming "Joseph Smith said... xyz" ... is bunk on a lot of things... and then when it was synthesized... stuff was added that was never part of the 4 OG accounts. There are a few things that are "reliable"... and consistent through all 4 accounts. Eternal Regression of Gods isn't one of them.

"The Prophet [Joseph Smith] taught that our Father had a Father and so on. Is not this a reasonable thought, especially when we remember that the promises are made to us that we may become like him? ... Our Father in Heaven, according to the Prophet, had a Father, and since there has been a condition of this kind through all eternity, each Father had a Father." — Joseph Fielding Smith

@ThoughtfulSaint Disparaging ideas you don't like as "pioneer era theories" doesn't make them any less true. Joseph Smith taught an infinite regress of gods and even Joseph Fielding Smith over 100 years later affirmed that there's an infinite regress and that Joseph Smith taught it

@dortner1 @LivingGodsTruth I said nothing of destinations only the glory we recieve. And yes he clearly delineated between degrees of glory, the dichotomy is evident.

@kgp______ @LivingGodsTruth It means you are misinterpreting what Paul says in 1 Cor 15. He's not speaking about different degrees of glory. There's only one destination for all followers of Jesus. He's speaking of how ALL believers will receive glorious heavenly bodies. There are no tiers of salvation.

Don't confuse what James is saying in James 2:24, that a man is justified by his works and not faith alone, with justification in salvation. James is clearly saying, and even giving examples with the patriarchs, that a man is shown to be righteous (justified) by his works, which is a result of his faith if it is indeed authentic. The Bible clearly communicates salvation is by faith in the perfect and finished work of Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Not in any works of fallen men. Ephesians 2:8–9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." Romans 3:28 "For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law." Galatians 2:16 "...nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified." Romans 5:1 "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 4:4–5 "Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness." Faith is a gift of grace from God and the foundation of authentic salvation which leads to authentic God glorifying works. The works display that the faith is complete (James 2:24). If we truly have put our faith in Christ and been born again, we will live out what we believe.

How many times does the phrase "faith alone" appear in the Bible? And what specifically does the Bible say about "faith alone"?

Go to JS Papers and read all 4 accounts for yourself. Where would the concept of Infinite Regress come from? Did Joseph ever use those words? Do all 4 accounts agree? If needed ask Ai to go to each account and tell you what is different between the 4. Have it tell you what is different from the 4 OG accounts and the later compiled singular version most read today. x.com/i/status/20423…

Mormons, let me get this straight 1) You believe your god is all powerful. 2) you believe that god requires people to be baptized for the dead for people who were not baptized. 3) until that work is done, dead people remain in spirit prison. Sounds to me like your god is weak

@GuyJackson777 Scholar Danila Oder proposes in The Two Gospels of Mark: Performance and Text (2019) that Mark originated as a full mime play performed c. 90–95 CE in a Roman theater. ('Mark') directed and acted the role of Jesus; the written Gospel is a later condensed narrative. #Irony

I hate that it is considered appropriate for men to act out the role of Jesus Christ. Can't stand it. I don't want to see some dude's face and have it be associated with the LORD. This crap should never have seen the light of day. I still have some fundamentalism in me I guess.
