I spent 25 years as a Filmmaker. Showrunning, directing, and producing TV, films, and commercials for dozens of major networks and global brands including Apple+, HBO Max, Discovery, MTV, YouTube Originals, and many more. Won an Emmy. Led crews of 300+. Led projects with Mark Hamill, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kim Cattrall, Logic, the Kardashians, Nelly, Meek Mill, and a U.S. Presidential campaign. Then I went quiet. I became a Creative Technologist and AI Systems Architect. Spent the last few years heads down, learning every tool, trying every framework, breaking things, rebuilding them, pushing past the limits of what these systems can do. And my own limits. I iterated over and over and over. When something broke, I figured out why. When a tool couldn't do what I needed, I built the tool. When I hit a wall, I went around it. I'm now building custom agentic AI ecosystems — multi-agent systems that run 24/7, autonomously managing operations, generating content, and scaling business workflows for elite individuals and major companies. I haven't had this much fun in years. It's the same feeling I had as a kid picking up a camera for the first time — falling in love with something so deeply that you can't stop thinking about it. Except this time the creative possibilities are truly endless. We are only limited by our own fears — not the tools. I'm all in. This is where I'll share what inspires me, what I'm experimenting with, what I'm building, what I'm breaking, and everything I'm learning along the way — at the intersection of Tech, AI, Agentic Systems, and 25 years of creative leadership. The biggest AI breakthroughs right now are less headlines than people expect: faster coding loops, better tool use, longer context, stronger multimodal reasoning. That’s exactly why they matter. They compound inside real workflows. It doesn't need to be a reinvent the wheel.

@SamJWasserman @AVARY That and the Devil's Backbone (which is his best) are the only ones that I've liked - though I recently re-watched Pan's Labyrinth and didn't enjoy it as much as I did when I originally saw it in the theater.

We need to remove the word “Artificial” from AI, because it’s anything but that. It’s Generative Intelligence, and it’s far from stupid, which is the last ditch of a desperate critic.

@SamJWasserman @AVARY Can't say that I have much admiration for him as a director - he's only made two good movies IMHO.

After 25+ years directing crews, the AI lesson feels familiar: the tool is not the production. The production is taste, coverage, collaboration, vision, continuity, deadlines, fixes, and knowing what to cut. AI doesn’t remove that. It raises the ceiling for people who have it.

@crystalwizard I haven't actually used that function on the airpods yet but I want to. It would have helped me potentially have longer conversations with my father in law who didn't speak much english before he passed.

my take on it is this - if someone's talking to me, and they are wearing earphones of any sort, but they aren't having a problem hearing me or carrying on the conversation, then it's none of my business what they are wearing. we ARE talking to each other face to fact after all. but i wasn't talking about translation going through the headphones - though that would be useful

nope. i normally don't even notice if someone's wearing stuff in their ears or not.

@AVARY @thehackettman LA also let crime run rampant, tax funds get wasted and quality of life for most people become non-existent. That coupled with what's happened to our industry is not a winning combo. I hope better days come sooner than later for LA, but I think it may get worse first sadly.

@ChrisGwinnLA @AVARY The approach Guillermo is taking to just say "F AI" and youre all slop and idiots will be a losing approach and is also wildly disrespectful to many artists who otherwise would never have a shot at bat. I have great admiration for him as a director but this approach is not it.

@AVARY The answer to this problem - if it even is a problem - is for the best of the best filmmakers in the world to embrace the tech and push it's to its limits. Set the bar.
