🔴 Today is Day 992 since October 7, 2023. For 2 years, 8 months, and 19 days, Israel has blocked the International Committee of the Red Cross from visiting Palestinian detainees held in Israeli torture prisons. Palestinian journalist Mujahid Bani Mufleh was detained by Israel without charge under its administrative detention policy in June 2025. He says he endured torture, starvation and prolonged medical neglect while imprisoned. Two days after his release in January 2026, Bani Mufleh suffered a severe brain hemorrhage linked to an illness he contracted in Israeli prison, rights groups say. He was hospitalized in critical condition and underwent multiple surgeries that left part of his skull removed and, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society, still faces a long and complex recovery. The group says his case reflects the systematic torture, abuse, and denial of medical care faced by Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. The group calls it the “slow execution” of all prisoners.

Last night also demonstrates the problems with AOC’s don’t rock the boat strategy. Since she has refused to endorse against sitting members, she is on the sidelines of a movement that she herself helped to kick off and logically should be leading. Missing the entire Dem Tea Party at the federal level because the once insurgent is now a de facto incumbent protector.

I disagree. AOC and Zohran coordinated NYC endorsements. They each endorsed the candidates that weren't politically risky for them. She and Zohran use the same strategy. Protect themselves on their level (local, federal, etc.) and support DSA on another. She also went hard for Chriss Rabb in the face of Josh Shapiro's ultra-Zionist attack. In no way is she on the sidelines.
