Pour ma part, c'est assez ambivalent. Par exemple, contrairement à beaucoup de réactions sur les réseaux sociaux, je suis assez indifférent à ce qu'ont pu vivre les 4 astronautes à bord, "l'épopée humaine" ne m'a pas vraiment touchée (et ne m'a jamais beaucoup touchée de Gagarine à aujourd'hui, pour être honnête). Je suis surtout content qu'ils soient revenus sains et saufs et qu'ils aient bien fait leur boulot, mais au-delà de ça leur vécu ne me passionne pas des masses. Leur jour où un français ou quelqu'un dont je peux peut-être me sentir proche d'une façon ou d'une autre partira ça changera probablement, mais pour Artemis II... non, même si ce sont des gens que je trouve personnellement admirables et forts sympathiques. Par contre. Par contre, cette mission m'a rendu très enthousiaste à l'idée que de grands programmes d'exploration spatiale soient relancés, ici habités en l'occurrence. Préparer le futur au-delà de l'orbite basse est une vraie bouffée d'air frais dans un monde qui vit en ce moment une époque difficile, ça fait partie des quelques grands projets internationaux qui vont vraiment dans le bon sens je trouve. Et alors que le spatial s'impose de plus en plus sans que les gens soient forcément au courant, avec par exemple les méga-constellations type Starlink et les satellites d'observation, il y a ici moyen d'embarquer tous ces utilisateurs passifs du spatial et d'en faire des enthousiastes actifs, chose hautement utile quand vient l'heure d'y allouer des budgets. D'en faire des citoyens conscients de la place du spatial dans leur vie. Savoir qu'on va, en tant qu'espèce, se remettre à lever les yeux aux ciel et à rêver d'exploration, à se dire "on va aller là-bas", ça, ça me touche. Voir des jeunes se réintéresser au spatial grâce au Starship ou à Artemis, ça me touche. Revoir la Terre de loin et ne pas nos responsables trembler à l'idée de franchir 800km d'altitude, ça me touche. Revoir la Terre comme un petit vaisseau mère et le reste comme autant de territoires à explorer, ça me touche. Donc avec Artemis II, on recommence à vivre en grand ce que nous permettent déjà de vivre les sondes robotiques qui, j'espère, bénéficieront par ricochet de l'enthousiasme porté par les missions habitées. Et l'espoir que portent ces grands programmes habités, c'est une denrée devenue rare par les temps qui courent. Et ça a donc une valeur énorme à mes yeux.

Guys, a few things. The strength estimate for the solar flare responsible for the Carrington event is A) a reconstructed estimate, so we don't know what X-level it actually reached and B) the strength of a solar flare =/= the strength, size, or magnetic field configuration of a coronal mass ejection IF one is launched. The Carrington Event CME was faster than this solar storm, but the total magnetic field strength for this storm did reach comparable levels at 90 nT for Bt. If the field for this storm had been sustained southward -Bz instead of +Bz, we would've had the strongest solar storm of solar cycle 25 and perhaps the strongest since 1989. GPS likely would have gone down, aurora down to the equator, widespread radio blackouts. Was this storm a Carrington level impact? No. Near Carrington level? Yes

@d4rsh_tw There is another explanation for this. If there are or were other universes with different physical parameters, only the universe with the right parameters can host life and thus be observed. So in a multiverse context, our "perfect" universe could simply be a random one.

The battery voltage was ok at peak charge, so I decided to check the starter. I dug a hole in the snow to be able to access the starter of the car from the bottom. Then I removed the hand break and moved the car 1 meter in front. Unfortunately, accessing the starter was difficult (bottom protection did not allow me), and I could not perform the tests I wanted. However, one thing in the diagnosis was eliminated: the problem with my car had nothing to do with the battery. Just in case: I already have the solution, and I am safe, but it will be in another post

actually, i have huge respect & empathy for this it is so so true your entire co is sure made of wonderful people, contributors and hustlers, people who are 10x better at what they do than you, but always and forever this whole thing is spearheaded by your effort & vibe as its (initial) founder everything at some point bottlenecks on you, whether the machine is well designed this takes a shorter interval of inactivity from you or a longer one but boy sometimes the timing is just ultra bad and you just have to grind in unfortunate circumstances when it happens it sure sucks, is a failure of your anticipation, your relatives won't get it and often resent you big time for it, and if it happens too much you'll burn yourself which is equal to the company going to literally 0 but sometimes its the single move you have personally I can't work insane hours, I have a optical condition since childhood that gives me crazy nausea and headaches if i stare at a screen for more than 8 hours for a couple days, mixed with not incredible sleep this morning for instance a whole (already late) effort of ours was bottlenecked by me, with a contractor getting paid while being locked for every hour I'd delay it I am jetlaged (just crossed the atlantic), I'm taking a train across the country at 6am, all of that after 3 hours of sleep and a full day of work until 1 am yesterday, basically i felt like shit but I still had to do that 1 hour of work asap after just 1 hour of this, turns out I spent 30 min in the train's bathroom to literally throw up (feeling better and not working now) might feel stupid to you or maybe not worth it, but I always remember the people I've seen all around the world who have a shit life working 2x more than i do for 10000x less upside or more, not talking of all the 20yo lost in the trenches, whether they were my ancestors or contemporaries regardless of the occasional throwing up at work, I still feel infinitely grateful for the life I have and yeah I should def learn harder how to avoid these unfortunate situations this is not to brag or anything, I write this for every other founder out there who sure keep themselves accountable beyond reason and maybe feel a bit stupid or lost sometimes about things like that so yeah, do what it takes, don't burn, it's all quite complicated in reality, you're the founder you gotta fuck around & find out happy i crossed the atlantic just for family & christmas tho, no way i'd stay in the US and sacrifice those I love & who always supported me just to regain a couple hours/days for work btw more founders out here who have more xp than me than founders who have less so please tell me your tricks and way of thinking about this okay guys gonna sleep now bye

Elle devrait se considérer comme ce qu’elle est : une puissance secondaire désormais périphérique en affaiblissement constant, une citadelle assiégée par des gens qui ne lui veulent pas du bien, une minorité menacée dans un monde qui ne lui ressemble pas (et n’en a pas envie), un trésor civilisationnel convoité par des puissances immenses et des hordes qui rêvent de l’assujettir. Alors peut-être qu’elle se donnerait les moyens de sa survie.

Personne d’autre ne rassemble tout ça. À la fin, ce sont eux qui sont en meilleure position pour gagner la course.
