The problem with this is that it’s very obviously not correct. One presumes that we’d still have ordinary policing, the kind of policing that applies to literally everything else in life and is therefore not unique to housing. If we still had any kind of law and order at all, housing would very obviously not trade for zero dollars.

You buy a voucher that you can redeem with the state at any time to have it violently exclude others from it. This "violence voucher" is what is valuable. The land, absent a violent voucher, would trade for ~$0.

Clearly there are many cases in which law enforcement escalates to deadly force too quickly. But if a man who has slashed 3 people is advancing on police, refusing orders to drop his machete, officers aren’t obliged to risk becoming the 4th or 5th victim by trying to disarm him.

This happened in Brazil after a robbery by the occupant of the white car that was on the run...being chased by the police...watch as it was disabled and ground Police cars closed up with the criminals.... Now the question is how do we explain terrorists attacking communities and military instalation without been checked and trailed...its just like any one can just do as he he wishes...not right at all.

@LinkofSunshine i worked as a manager at Wawa for 15 years where most employees walked 4-8 miles in a shift, and everybody who works there for a long time looks young for their age. you can't walk too much, that's literally not a thing. the human body is optimized for walking.

The discussion about the Monty Hall problem yesterday reminded me of another time when Marilyn caught grief from a lot of people. She said that for families with only two children, the odds of both children being the same sex was 2/3. People yelled at her, called her stupid, etc., so Marilyn asked her large readership to respond if they were either one of a two sibling family or had only two children themselves, reporting the sexes of the pairs. Many thousands of responses latter and the numbers were roughly 65%-66% (I can't remember exactly because it's been a long time). Some people were stunned by the numbers, still thinking that it should be a 50-50 split. It should not and here's why: Thing of the possible combinations of two children: 1) Two boys 2) Two girls 3) Boy and girl* 4) Girl and a boy* You will note that groups 3 and 4 are the same combination: two children of the opposite sex. So there are really only three combinations: 1)Two boys 2) Two girls 3) One boy and one girl Two out of the three possible combinations are same sex siblings.
