Barn owl’s feathers are designed for silent flight. Their large wings enable them to fly very slowly and hover on the slightest breeze. Their soft feathers are not at all waterproof, they struggle to hunt in heavy rain. Survival is a real challenge for these most beautiful birds.

Three lucky ones went to new homes in the USA Today. They were flown over by Rachel and Wendy and will be met by the wonderful adopters and Rori & Marc who do our adoptions so professionally. Thank you ❤️ This transport wasn’t without its dramas. Spud had an outbreak of corns 🥴 Tortilla injured her tail and then I cut a nail too short and Crisps… well he had a bit of diahrea but he’s ok now on a good intestinal food. At least no trapped Willie’s this time 🤨 Have a safe flight everyone ☺️
