The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our San Dimas Sheriff’s Deputy who passed away after suffering a medical emergency while participating in the 2026 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay race. The Deputy was among numerous law enforcement personnel representing their agencies at this annual event when the medical emergency occurred. Despite receiving medical care, the Deputy ultimately passed away from their injuries. The Deputy’s family has been notified and the Department has been coordinating with them to provide support and resources. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Deputy’s family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. The loss of our beloved Deputy, a 13-year veteran, is felt across the entire LASD family. We ask our community to join us in honoring our Deputy’s service and keeping his loved ones in your thoughts during this challenging time.

RIP. Missouri Police Officer Henry Franklin was murdered when he was shot and killed while serving a warrant with his tactical team. Officer Franklin and his tactical team were called to assist with serving a warrant linked to a homicide investigation from earlier that day. When the team arrived at the home of the suspect and attempted to make contact, the man fired at the officers from inside the house, killing Officer Franklin, and continued to fire. The suspect remained barricaded in the home for five hours and was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officer Franklin was a United States National Guard veteran and had served with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety for over 12 years. He is survived by his wife and four children and his K9 partner Odin. 🖤🙏💙🙏🖤 STOP SHOOTING MY POLICE OFFICERS!!!

Utah Police Officer Eric Estrada and Sergeant Lee Sorensen were murdered in cold blood last night while responding to multiple 911 hang-up calls at a residence. Both officers are survived by their wives and children.
