Myth: Pensions are nice to offer, but they don’t have an impact on the workforce. Fact: When Alaska eliminated defined benefit pension, the Dept of Public Safety identified the lack of a defined benefit retirement as a source of attrition and applicant disinterest.

We are very grateful for Sen Tim Schaffer for introducing SB 321, which arms our members who work for the Departments of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Today's sponsor testimony went well and we look forward to working with him to pass this bill!
