@MidwestGolfJake I play most of my clubs an inch short. don't think my back would permit me to use a putter shorter than my wedges these days

I completely agree with this take. If I were king for a day I'd make 3 equipment changes: 1. Putter has to be the shortest club in your bag 2. Driver can be no longer than 44" and no bigger than 310cc. 3. Max number of clubs you can have in your bag is 10.
Rick Golfs@Top100Rick

Kay Adams gets Jordan Spieth to talk about the broomstick and anchoring. He is cordial about it, but he also thinks the putter should be the shortest club in that bag and explains why. It’s an easy fix and eliminates anchoring essentially.

Really depends on how classic you want to be! For me, the golden era is from the late 80s through the early 2000s. Highlights are: Early—MP-11 Middle—MP-14 Late—MP-33 I play MP33s. Everyone else on here is welcome to chime in and will likely have opinions…. It’s golf twitter after all!

@MidwestGolfJake Take a caddy and have your sock/shoe game dialed (darn tough socks are worth the price). Play 36 holes at home a few times before and you’ll be good to go

This prompts a question. I am going to Bandon in 2027. It will almost certainly be my first rounds of 2027. How should I train to be ready to walk 36 per day for 3 straight days? Should I take a caddie for every round? Any other tips to prep me?
Thomas Bendelow@BendelowThomas

@BryanTweed16 Totally understand this. When I went down to Streamsong a few weeks ago and walked 36, after not playing four months, I thought I was going to die

@bubbascaddie @MyTPI balance /"control" completely over-rated. tell him to keep ripping it. if he starts losing balls at some point as he gets longer, just deal with it then.

@MyTPI For the driver part, how do you help players determine the best balance between power and accuracy. How much is too much movement of the lower body away from the ball during the down swing? Does it matter if they are in complete control?

We commonly discuss how high clubhead speed players squat in transition, but that pattern does not belong in every shot.   In this our latest article, Dr. Rose and TPI biomechanist Corey Koller compare force plate data from PGA TOUR players hitting driver and short-game shots. The difference in transition is clear.   Speed tasks rely on elastic loading. Precision tasks rely on stability. Full video/article: mytpi.com/articles/swing…

No tees, links style bunkers, 10 club limit. Scoring goes way up. Also instead of the groove rule trying to take off spin which lowered the scoring avg, do the opposite. Super aggressive grooves that make wedges spin back too much.

@JTeeSwagg @HudakBrian @SHistorians @NUCLRGOLF my position is that if it's filled with sand you play it as it lies. if it's an unfilled divot you should have the option to fill it with sand and replace the ball and then it off the sand.

@engineeringolf @Mr_ArmChair_QB for me the take-home here is that it wouldn't be wise to play a moneyline stroke-play match with someone more than three or four shots worse than you. table is also super useful to gauge expected value of betting with a known sandbagger or vanity hcp.

@engineeringolf @Mr_ArmChair_QB here is the 0-15 table expressed as decimal probabilities. (Gemi did the conversion. I assume it is correct but didn't audit it)

The modern driver is a participation trophy with a headcover. Imagine telling Bobby Jones you needed 10,000 MOI to “optimize launch conditions.” He’d optimize your soul.

@RDSBarath @TommyFleetwood1 brilliant cue. just made a couple dozen drill speed swings with it. real easy to initiate down swing with rotation instead of arms with this feel.
