@zoink Creating multiple, smaller events throughout the year might serve the community and Figmates better. I’m thinking of all those visibly exhausted Figmates admirably trying to entertain us all — and all the (I assume) last min push to get features ready to launch by the keynote.

Heard a lot of feedback that #Config2024 was too big this year. Still evaluating but will probably make it smaller next year based on this feedback. The (obvious) downside is if we make it smaller less people get to attend. What events have you seen handle excess demand well?

@pwnies Would love to follow up on how we ensure our training / fine tuning data (design system & general product design work) is safeguarded from / segregated from other customers. Can we even consider bringing our own model?

Been working on Make Design here at Figma for the last 6mo or so. It’s crazy how much potential our first steps into generative AI has to accelerate the workflows of designers everywhere, but it’s just the start. What are your thoughts? #Config2024

The unglamorous and time consuming part of design systems work: aligning legacy product/code to the system so that updates matter.

Leadership lesson for today: When you delegate decision authority, the worst thing you can do is override their decision(s) without consultation. Change is a natural part of learning, so decisions change. Just be sure to drive it back thru the team who made the original decision.

Introducing the newest member of our family, Liam James. Born June 7th, 2023 / 5:39pm / 8lb 14.9oz / 20 inches. @harropj is absolutely crushing it as a dad. We are overwhelmed with joy (and sleep deprivation). 😍

In parenting, there's a clear difference between those who balance the parent-as-a-customer and the child-as-a-user and those who don't. As with #EnterpriseUX, parents will put up with a poor experience for a bit if your kid is having a good time, but everyone has their limit.

And to round out this MSFT love fest... I decided to ask a cheeky question. And - well - at least it was honest. 🤣

Today is the first day since 2003(?) that I used a Microsoft browser on an Apple computer. (BingAI/Chat is only available in Edge, it seems) I feel triggered, amused, and curious.

Aaaaaaand now that I've tamed that window I get to enjoy another typical Microsoft thing: the junk-drawer-of-tools-nobody-wants-or-needs that seems to always accompany a Microsoft product.

Aaaaaaand it immediately defies platform convention by launching itself at max-width+max-height on the primary screen. I can't even find the installer window to "finish" the install.
