@3RenChengHu The question is do you understand interdependence at a social level. I am not attacking you for caring about you. I'm attacking you for failing to model the consequences of red majorities at 51%, 60% 80% 95%... How would you be forced to adapt if 5% or 49% of people are dead?

@GoodFarmingAdam @gfodor you are assuming people of other cultures, lower IQs, different levels of poverty would have the exact same understanding and mindset as you, they dont. lower the IQ the more likely they are to take the obvious survival choice, same with poverty. I see truth, my soul is intact.

“I would vote blue to save people who voted blue because they don’t understand the question but those who voted red because they don’t understand the question are horrible people” Put it in the louvre, this is pure crystal-distilled tribalism

@gfodor it was, you're just a horrible person that didn't pay attention to the question and would've killed a bunch of children

@gfodor A blue vote objectively has more life value than a red vote, the numbers are not debatable. The only reason to vote Red is pure self interest, its a question of your inner nature as a person.

@oliveegger it also includes low IQ people who will push red because 100% survival rate is an easy choice. there are significantly more people under 100IQ than over. and there are significantly more selfish cultures than civilized.

@ArmadaUGS if you unable to explain the depth and total consequences of the question to people, low IQ people (majority of the world) will push red. guaranteed life is a no brainer. they wont think about the children, the disabled, the color blind they will think about themselves.

I understand the "game theory" behind red even if it never would work in practice at all With roughly 800-900 million people below the age of 6 it presents a massive issue with red which all or at least most seem to ignore. So yeah 400-450 million dead here alone if red decides
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

@Mhenderson550 @LordTash2 @Kekius_Sage not even close to 50%. anyone under 80IQ would push red because they cannot comprehend the numbers and 100% for them to live that is a "no brainer", voting blue is trusting that everyone from every culture thinks like you. they dont.

this is what it really is red: you don’t trust people, so you guarantee a worse world blue: you trust people, with zero control if they betray you if blue wins, you survived a gamble if red wins, you proved why trust never stood a chance either way: the outcome says more about us than the game itself

@shaggysurvives reds are high IQ and below 80IQ, high IQ reds choose red because of the low IQ people. lower IQ people tend to live in the now and are selfish, plus they cannot comprehend complex ideas. more than half of the world is under 100 IQ.

@plasmarob if we are talking the worldwide population red is the only logical choice, there are way more people below 100IQ than over 100, lower IQ people mostly think in the now and are therefore selfish, therefore expecting them to vote blue is suicide.

The red button advocates really do seem like morally inferior people Many say I'm signalling virtue I happen to think my view is more virtuous, and there is no actual praxis here so what is the problem? I do donate a substantial amount to the poor Find virtue i guess

LOTS of discussion about “pretending to be moral” if you pick the blue button. You can truck right off with the pretend part. Is it that hard to believe that some of us might choose not to want to muder others even when nobody is looking, and even it’s partially their fault?

The calculus to press red is, to put it kindly, short-sighted idiot math. It begins and ends with “what input gives me the best odds of living” with no regard for what the world you’d be living in - where everyone you can trust is dead and everyone else knows it - would look like

New Trolley problem has arrived, only it's dumber. Pres Red - 100% chance of living. Blue - Non-zero chance of dying. It has nothing to do with empathy for others unless you're stuck on suicidal empathy, which is YOUR fault, not mine. There is ZERO logical reason for ANYONE to press blue. NONE.
